If the ability to amass profits is sufficiently abridged, Capitalists will relocate to more friendly territory.

In the mean time, Liberals forge ahead unable to accept reality and unable to adjust to he world around them. Detroit used to be the envy of the world for its productive capabilities and the thriving Capitalism that it was founded upon.

In fact, logic and reason suggests that new car companies would have entered the market and existing manufacturers would have captured more market share. We sure as hell know that the bondholders would not have been screwed over as they were if the companies had simply filed for bankruptcy.

In the 70's, the American Auto industry was a joke. The cars fell part, rusted out, broke down with consistency and nothing fit right. The designs were bad, the workmanship sucked and the dependability was MIA.

The lack of quality was a result of the teamwork that was produced by the animosity between union and management.

Just like the recent housing crisis, you cannot point to one group or another. It was everything and everyone.

The fat and sloppy management is being addressed as are the fat and sloppy labor agreements.
