No iron bars. No individual cells. Everyone can roam anywhere on the island and they get to make 2 calls per day. Use horses to work and have a great supply of fresh eggs.

The perfect prison - you can't get out.

They might have mentioned that this picture was taken in July.

Just kidding.

Do the horses lay eggs or what?

that's really cool. seems to be working, too - although since the prisoners are screened the recidivism rate needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

They got lots and lots of chickens - not the human type.,

The Gold Room

This sounds like the opposite of that nightmarish prisoner island hellhole from John Carpenter's "Escape from New York" (1981).

There's nothing wrong with talking a little about prison management, since jurisprudence issues in our age of mass dialogue (i.e., Internet) can not be addressed without proper concentration on 'incarceration values.'

I've been telling people for some time now that a great prison management initiative would be to stock all prison libraries with audiobook versions of the timeless escapism-inquisition novel "Treasure Island" (Robert Louis Stevenson), so inmates can think about prosperity peacefully and privately without feeling bullied by other inmates: "Look at that weird inmate reading books."
