like father like son - rand paul lone vote against idiotic law

Yeah rotsa ruck, Rand ran on the Tea Party republican ticket, not the libertarian one.

Yes he does have some disagreements with his Father. But what Son doesn't? He could be the bridge-builder who brings the party together though. I guess we'll see.

His ideas are failed ideas for the most part.

He has been a republican fringe guy and will never win national election because his ideas do not resonate with enough American voters.

As opposed to the tested & tried failed ideals of both parties of the status quo?

You can say his ideas are untested in the modern world, but you certainly can't call them failed. They can only fail if they're attempted.

What you fail to understand is that it has been untested because it doesnt work.

Unfettered markets lead to consoilidation of wealth in fewer and fewer hands which in the end kills any attempt at democracy.

They are failed ideas.

They have been tried and they failed very quickly by turning into a wealth grab every time.

What you dream of can never happen.

It is unsustainable as a policy.

Well being a Paulitician certainly isn't easy. Lots of enemies. The status-quo Socialists/Progressives & Neocons have a lock on power and they're not gonna give up that power very easily. Pauliticians have to endure the unrelenting attacks from both. But you have to keep fighting. You have to believe that one day things will change. Never give up.

So you're against Paul's policies for fear of "wealth-grabbing'?

Do you see the biggest healthcare, drug, banks, oil companies getting big handouts and legislation curved their way? I sure as hell do.

All the points you just made would lead me to think you don't support the current systems and bureacrats, yet then you conclude the opposite.

Ron Paul. 76 years old. Totally unelectable because of the Ross Perot syndrome: radical ideas filtered through an ineffective communicator. Good luck, Tea Partiers! by hitching your wagon to Ron Paul's star, you have secured a place in the political wasteland of obscurity.

That may be where the other half of the Dynamic Duo comes in. Rand Paul is the one to watch. Stay tuned.

If the law doesn't restrict sales and use, I dunno. On the other hand, I'm trying to think of other thingies that can be used to down an aircraft in flight from the ground, and I'm not getting any ideas apart from heavy artillery.

So are these lasers some new type of hazard to aviation?

Birds have taken down more planes that these lasers have, I wouldn't ecatly call them a hazard.

Here in NYC we cull the birds around airports. Should NYC now cull people with laser pointers?

I think they should win an Extended Stay at the Fabulous Rikers Island Resort in NYC. Fantastic view of the East River and the Manhattan Sky-Line. I think they even give out complimantary condoms.

Somehow the idea of a movie with Tommie Lee Jones hunting a laser-pointer wielding terrorist won't leave my mind now, and it's

I can see a new stimulus program brewing. Spend millions to hire paratroopers to fly around until they get lased & then para-shoot down to the source & apprehend the kid with the laser. They could even use jet-packs & hovercraft to make it more exciting.

Never mind the fact that a laser has never caused an aircraft accident. They also make laser safety glasses for eye protection & pilots could simply have a pair in the cockpit just in case.

...............................But Goldberg is not alone; among his peers; it is difficult to find anyone who does not shrug off Paul as anything more than a nuisance. In my opinion, that is a big mistake. First and foremost, among contemporary politicians, Paul is the most zealous defender of individual liberty as it was classically defined and understood by the founders. In a country where 50% of the citizens pay no income tax and the redistribution of wealth has become standard operating procedure, conservatives should cheer when a politician has the courage to proclaim, "The government should not be able to do anything that an individual cannot do [without committing a crime]"............................

The above is part of a rare piece of truly conservative opinion at American Thinker.

American Thinker: The Curious Case of Ron Paul

These folks boast and preen about how 'conservative' they are when in fact their strain of neoconservative Statism is nearly as septic as that of 'ex'-marxist David Horowitz at frontpagemag.com- the homepage for all nominal 'americans' who would throw America under the bus in a heartbeat to please israel. FrontPage Magazine

More interesting still are the responses from 'conservatives' whose heads are almost exploding at the thought of kind words for an American Patriot who questions wars of choice and $1TRILLION/yr military spending.

If only Dr. Paul were 20 years younger or America had begun to wake up 20 years ago....................

We need a true Conservative like Ron Paul for President in 2012. We voted someone in based on looks alone and look what happened.

If you haven't read this, it's a great read on this philosophy

The Law

Ron Paul could be the greatest President we've had since the Founding Fathers but in this day of T.V. he doesn't have the look or voice. It's the reason our country is so screwed up today. Hopefully the country will come to it's senses before his son RAND is too old to run. I supported RON PAUL in the last election and will support him again if he chooses to run. People tell me a vote for RON PAUL is like a vote for obama, I tell them it's not my fault all the other Republicans are wrong.
