This is absurd, but back in the 1960s it was even worse. The penalty then in Texas for possession of any amount of pot was the death penalty.

Life in prison for a career criminal arrested for buying drug-lord quantities of pot, using a great deal of money. I don't see anything cruel and usual about that life sentence.

Yes, our drugs laws are ridiculous. Most Americans believe that pot should be decriminalized and yet our legislators don't do it. Vote in people who do support decriminalizing.
