Lies and the Lying Liars That Tell Them

If you don't want to talk about the thread's topic, then why are you in the thread? Other than to rag on a liberal poster, which of course you have every right to do,

but you should at least admit that that is why you're here.

I'm ragging on an idiot who thinks lies are ok - as long as it's 'their guy' who's lying. If you cannot understand how fucking moronic that is, then you have my sympathy.

For someone who claims intellectual superiority over all the rest of us, you are being intellectually dishonest. I never said that lying is okay, I said I'm supporting the candidate who lies the least. That candidate IS Barack Obama...despite all the right wingers decrying him a "liar" while supporting candidates who lie considerably more.

There you go again... making shit up about me. I have never, ever claimed 'intellectual superiority' over 'all the rest' of anyone. Fucking lying twit. No wonder you support Obama - liars often don't have an issue with other liars.

Twit.

Ron Paul has historically fained ideas that have never worked in the real world.

The constitution is not a historically 'fained' idea that never worked in the real world.

Two mistakes there. One, Ron Paul's ideas are not identical with the Constitution. And two, while it's incorrect to say the Constitution has "never" worked, it has failed quite a number of times, most obviously in 1861.

On the subject of politician honesty, I want to say that I don't consider honesty a cardinal political virtue. Lying is part of a politician's toolchest, one that he must use in dealing with other politicians, especially foreign ones. Problems arise when a politician is either too scrupulous to lie, or unable to lie convincingly (i.e., a lying politician isn't a problem, but an INEPT liar certainly is).

About Obama's Politifact rating, it seems to me that the best lies are often technically true, and if a politician is really a good liar, he'll know how to tell the truth so as to steer things his way, even to mislead. I know Obama to be a very capable politician and that means (among other things) that he's a good liar. The best lies are true lies.

somehow the truth is totally ignored.....

It is a symptom of the degeneration of society. Washington is not the cause it is the effect. Liberalism has turned this nation into society of babies unable to take matters into there own hands. Morals are no longer important. Honestly is no longer important. Fidelity is dismissed. The rule of law is only a problem to circumvent.

What is bad is good, and what is good is bad. Do you think 100 years ago 'nice guys' would have finished last? No, people were dependent on honesty and strong morals to survive. Now life has been simply been made to easy by the nanny state. Instead of living your life striving to be a better person we live our lives striving to satisfy our boredom.

Soon it is going to reset.

I hope so.
You should call it for what it really is - Liberalism really means Socialism.
100 yrs ago the Socialists hid behind the word socialism by saying they were progressives.
Then when that became a bad word they hid behind the word liberal. Now that has become a dirty word, so they switched back to using the same word again progressives.
It's been socialists in both parties and it's time to scale it back.

What do you think Obama meant at his acceptance speech when he won?
He said "It's taken us 100 years to get here and one election isn't going to cure the problem".
In other words, we have slowly grown our government for the last 100 yrs and we have to grow it even more. He sure has done that, from 19.6 at the end of Bush's term till now at 28.5.
See, he needs four more years to make it even bigger.

people believe the liar that tells them the lies they want to hear...simple as that.....

somehow the truth is totally ignored.....

the us president is truly the man behind the curtain now,,,,,

as in macbeth.....

a tale told by an idiot fill of sound and fury......

that is all this is....different parties but the same results......over and over...there are no real changes.....each party is given the chance to make a difference and does little.....

obama has done several things that dont allow me to vote for him again....i.e. bills that make the government more powers and the rights of the citizens taken more and more....and the horse slaughtering ....but mostly the limitation of the rights of americans....neither party wants to restore those rights....

i remember when this whole country was a 'free speech zone'

I totally agree with you bones.
We have almost become the monarchy of which we fought against in the revolutionary war.
And I remember free speech too, before political correctness. It's not even a law and people are getting fired because if this stupidity.
It's freedom of speech not freedom from speech.
Both parties have grown our government and it has gotten way too big for it's britches.

Thanks, peach174.

My grandma had a phrase for people with big mouth singer syndrome, and it always worked for me. When people said obnoxious things, she piped in with "well, there he goes again, saying more than he thinks."

Words had a wallop, and she knew how to place them for maximum effect.

I miss that wise woman.

You must be young. You think that all this stuff is a recent phenomena. It's not. It's been that way for thousands of years, grasshopper. Your cute, though.

So you say. Irregardless of all history of mankind saying the opposite. Go ahead and stay dependent on government. Keep your hand held out. One day soon there will be nothing left for you to take. I look forward to the collapse.
