gmta. I just went there in answer to one of your posts in another thread.

"Government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one." --Thomas Paine

It's ALWAYS a vote for the lesser of two evils... always. And every one of you who threw your vote away on a candidate you KNEW had no hope of winning, every one of you who abstained because you didn't like your choices, are just as culpable for the result of this election and four more years of the Obama tyranny as any Obama voter. Don't kid yourselves.

Well since government has become intolerable, if it ever wasn't, what does it matter who anybody voted for?

You eat a bear one bite at a time, man. You KNEW what Barack Obama was. You had already experienced his governance. And yeah.. Mitt Romney might not have been your ideal candidate, but he might have brought us a couple of inches closer to what we're looking for. And instead of gaining a couple of inches, you chose to lose a couple of miles.

You guys can, and will I'm sure, argue back. But in your heart of hearts, you know I'm right. If government has become "intolerable" you FIGHT. Now, that might be with the pen rather than the sword, or with the ballot. But you don't just roll over and accept the thing that's MOST antithetical to your beliefs because it wasn't exactly what you wanted.

There was no chance to gain any ground. Only to lose. And if I'm going to lose ground regardless, I really don't care who's leading the charge.

By voting to continue evil you are doing the opposite of fighting. Hell you're not even rolling over, you're sanctioning the abuse.

More like we don't believe in the Libertarian Party.

I really believe your problem is you don't understand human beings.

Well you also believed Mitt Romney was going to be President, so you'll forgive me if I don't take your beliefs seriously.

lol. All DiaperFire does is troll threads where the Repub party dominance is questioned. Well it just got finished being questioned last week LOL :eusa_boohoo:

Let me just add one thing, lest you guys think I'm blaming you singularly for this whole debacle. I'm like 90% libertarian myself. I get where you're coming from. I really do. And while you didn't help the situation, I really don't think it's your fault. This country has reached the tipping point IMO, where we have more takers than makers and more ignorant than educated.

What disappoints me is that libertarians are NOT the "takers". They're NOT the "ignorant". We should have been natural allies in this election. We'd already WITNESSED what Barack Obama had in mind.
When have we EVER seen an election that wasn't "the lesser of two evils"? Government is essentially FORCE. That's why it's innately evil. And yet, as Paine tells us, it's "necessary". And we recognize that it is so. Law is what makes civilization civilized. So, we vote. We vote for the best of the choices arrayed before us. And Romney was that better choice, the only guy who had a shot at removing Barack Obama from office.

Like I said... it's not your fault. But goddammit you sure as hell didn't help any. :(

No, Romney was a statist with no core. We've already got one of those in the White House.

Romney didn't argue for and plan to turn things such as medicare, healthcare, etc. back to the States where they belong?

I keep forgetting you are the narco-Libertarian anarchist type who believes no government is the best solution.

You believe anything that came out of Romney's mouth?

Bullshit. You had four years to SEE what Barack Obama was all about. And at the very least Romney's would've been a first term where he was politically accountable. It's pure lunacy to give a collectivist creep like Obama a lame duck term and 2-3 more bites at the Supreme Court apple.

What does that mean? Politically accountable? Accountable to who? A collectivist creep like Obama as opposed to a collectivist creep like Romney?

You want the libertarian vote? Nominate somebody a libertarian can vote for.

Honest to God, you all have so marginalized what was a terrific movement that I just don't think it's going to ever matter. And don't mistake my tone. I'm really sad about that in an exhausted kind of numb way. I had taken great hope and comfort early on in the idea that this movement back toward the founding philosophy would grow and educate as it spread. But in the end, it's toothless... impotent. You can't stand on the sidelines and claim you're in the fight. You're not.

Listen, I'm not yelling at you. I get it. But there really was no meaningful comparison between the KNOWN socialist quantity that Obama represented and a guy you didn't bother to give a chance to. And he was the ONLY guy who was really in play. You can't walk down the path untaken and tell us what it was like.

There's nothing I can say to you if you think Romney's warmongering corporatist agenda was a step towards libertarianism, and if you think that the only way to be in the fight is electoral politics. Politics is merely a means to an end, not an end itself. Any libertarian worth their salt knows that much. Don't lecture me about being in the fight when you cast your lot with the other side.

What country did Romney bomb without so much as a by-your-leave from Congress? Where was his kill-list? Who were the American citizens that Mitt Romney whacked with drones and without due process? :eusa_eh: THAT is the path not taken. We already know the commie bastard who did do all those things. And you guys wouldn't even bother to be a speed-bump for him while he rolled over you. C'mon man. Seriously. If the libertarian movement is going to ever account for anything, it's got to be HERE, in the REAL world. Not just on paper.

We don't know what kind of president Romney would've been because he never got the chance to show us.

We don't know cuz he's a liar and on each side of each issue. We have a decent idea though based on his party affiliation and governorship. Either way, voting is sanctioning their actions and I refuse to sanction evil. You want me to date the rapist instead of the murderer. I'll pass.
