Libertarian sells out and calls fire department

I wonder if the moonbat collectivists hooting and snickering here have bothered to consider whether the mythical libertarian was given a choice as to whether he'd pay his taxes to support the fire department

He can go live in the mountains. He's free to live outside of the cities and towns.

or what other choice he had when calling for assistance.

He can call any other libertarian who wants to start a private firefighting service. Are you saying they don't exist? Are you saying that they can't compete in the market against the evil communist fire department?

And you can move to Cuba.

Cuts both ways, Gomer.

Hypocrite!

CHEYENNE, WY—After attempting to contain a living-room blaze started by a cigarette, card-carrying Libertarian Trent Jacobs reluctantly called the Cheyenne Fire Department Monday. "Although the community would do better to rely on an efficient, free-market fire-fighting service, the fact is that expensive, unnecessary public fire departments do exist," Jacobs said. "Also, my house was burning down." Jacobs did not offer to pay firefighters for their service.

You're paving the road in front of his house because he pays fuel and vehicle taxes, just like you.

Why are you socialists so eager to justify forcing me to pay for his roads? It's all about control for you people, isn't it? I should be able to buy and drive my own car wherever I want. But no, you socialist control freaks want to tell me I need a safety seat for my child and that I have to drive on the 'right' side of the road and can't drive too fast and can't drive my truck because it doesn't pass 'emissions'. If people wanted to drive on one side of the road for 'safety' they'd do it themselves without government intervention and if they wanted 'clean' cars that didn't 'pollute too much' they'd buy them in the free market. Then you socialist control freaks want to 'tax; (steal) my income to pay for the lights and signs o tell me how to drive and to pay some 'police officer' to deny me of my liberty when I want to exercise my right to drive where and as fast as I want. If we wanted those 'cops' we'd hire them ourselves on the free market.

Libertarians have some good sounding ideals.
Not practical or workable at all but good ideals.
So "unpractical and unworkable" that they grew this nation from literally nothing to the world's pre-eminent economic superpower inside 150 years.

No, lemmie guess...Slave and child labor.

We did have both of those.
And what non libertarian things happened duriing those 150 years?
Your point?

There's a difference between libertarians and anarchists, Gomer.

BTW, I'm against a pretty fair share of the list in that faux tirade.

Suffice to say the point is beyond you.

There's also a difference between "Progressives" and "Socialists", but most Libertarians don't make that distinction, so why should anyone make the distinction you're making now?

Just saying...

Well for whatever the reason I do not understand and embrace libertarian idealism I am very thankful.

I find it funny that Dude has no problem painting anyone as a socialist/communist who believes the government has a role in maintaining a prosperous and just society bu gets so upset when he's painted with the same brush.
