Liberation of Mosul begins

The war in Mosul has begun and here is some basic information.

Participating will:
- Iraqi army
- Supporting militias
- Kurdish Peshmerga
- Nineveh Guard
- US led Coalition
- US Special Forces

The militias will focus on Tal Afar while the military on Mosul itself. It is planned to leave a corridor open for ISIS to retreat. This plan is heavily criticized due to the fact ISIS forces could flee for Syria. On one hand, this has been a method the Syrian army has been using in most of the big urban battles against ISIS and the Iraqi army announced to not to allow ISIS to enter Syria. On the other hand, the US and Saudi Arabia (!!) granted free passage to the thousands of ISIS terrorists, what looks like the US and SA are trying to redeploy ISIS against the Syrian army with no intention to liberate Mosul itself. According to reports the Coalition will only strike "vacated" buildings, whatever that means.

I doubt this will end well as Iran and the Shiite militia that Iranian Quds forces actually control, have no incentive to see a USA led victory. They will sandbag and let the US led Iraq secular government forces take the brunt of the casualties and do most of the heavy lifting, along with the Peshmerga Kurdish forces to the North.

Coordinating and marshalling such large forces is a difficult taks made astronomically more difficult by the varying factions involved each with their own goals and interests.

This whole operation was pushed ahead too soon by the Obama regime to aid Hillary in the election and instead it might harm her.

It is an Iraqi operation. They will liberate Mosul with or without the little help that the Coalition offers.

And the bells ring. PMU keeps promise:

The video has been deleted but see the priest happily ringing the bell:

The Kurdish pashmerga army is the best, they have all various shapely girls in it with big guns shooting up the peasants. As good as the game.

Red Cross: Battle for Mosul could take months

"Dominik Stillhart, the director of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has said in an interview on Thursday that the operation to defeat ISIS in Mosul city will take a matter of weeks or months.

"What we see now on the ground is indeed that the fight in Mosul is not just going to stop anytime soon because the resistance is very strong," Stillhart said, adding, "It is reasonable to expect that this is going to take weeks if not months."

He highlighted how the fighting will have a severe negative influence on civilians."

The Iraqi military has stopped the Mosul campaign due to high civilian casualties in the city center. Whether this is a foul excuse cannot be said at this point. For sure is that ISIS won´t abstain from human shields and whenever the assault will be re-launched the same problem will occur.

A true hero!

Hero-Iraqi-driver-696x392.jpg

"An Iraqi bulldozer driver working with the Iraqi forces fighting ISIS in Mosul used his vehicle to block off an ISIS suicide bomber, thus saving the lives of his comrades.

The heroic act, which was filmed by a camera placed in the driver’s cabin, occurred in the western parts of the ISIS stronghold, where fierce battles are currently being fought in bid to oust the terror group from its bastion.

The driver chose to block off the road to prevent the VBIED from infiltrating into the Iraqi troops. Moments after the suicide bomber was stopped, the VBIED exploded. The driver survived the blast and sustained minor injuries.

The self-proclaimed Islamic State is steadily losing ground as the Iraqi coalition recaptures more districts and neighborhoods in the northern city.

Concerns remain as the terror group continues to use thousands of civilians as human shields to curb the advance of Iraqi forces."
