Liberals - Time to Rise, Shine and Blame President Bush !!!

When Obama was in office with an all Dem Congress, they still blammed the minority Republicans for blocking what they really wanted to pass.

Yet when Bush had an all Dem Congress....well....all that legislation passed between 07-09 was all Bush's bad policies, not the Dems that had a big majority!

Double standards are a pillar of liberal faith.

It's laughable to entertain any notion that the Financial Crisis of '08 was due to bad policy in the Democratic controlled 110th Congress. Even a child's look at the facts shows that it was 100% due to the maladministration of arguably the worst President in the history of the USA and a trio of Republican Congresses (107-109) so inept that it's much easier to remember their gay sex scandals than any good they may have done.

It's easy to see that the 110th Congress made some moves in the right direction but it was too little too late. By the time Obama came in the crisis was already in full swing. In some ways now we're seeing some daylight - but I see no reason. None whatsoever. Absolutely zilch - to think that John McCain would have handled the situation better than Obama has.

Alot of people don't realize that our Democracy doesn't allow you to vote against a candidate.

The biggest culprit was Barney Frank and government forced mandates onto banks.

Repubs actually did try to change it in 2003, but guess who put up a big stink and cried about it?

No, that's just laughably ignorant. George W. Bush controlled Fannie and Freddie lending goals. If he didn't want Fannie/Freddie buying subprimes he merely had to call Al Jackson up and tell him. (To be fair to Al, if George W. Bush had any intention of doing any such thing he wouldn't have appointed Al in the first place). The Republican White House controlled Fannie/Freddie and the same banks that were selling bad loans to Fannie/Freddie were the principal stock-holders in Fannie/Freddie and Fannie/Freddie simply securitized those bad loands and sold them to..... you guessed it. The same guys who made the loans in the first place.

The Fed kept interest rates low to keep subprimes rolling - and we all know that the Fed does whatever the White House tells it to or it risks losing it's independence (paraphrasing Art Brown).

I'm not sure if Congress really could have stopped that runaway train that George W. Bush set in motion, but if they could have, it wouldn't have been the Democrats in congress that did it. The Democrats were in disarray and were weak and ineffectual in Congress 107-109. It makes no sense to blame them for anything.

And Conservatives don't. They too agree that George W. Bush was likely the worst president in the history of the USA and he will be remembered for defrauding the population out of the American Dream. That's why there's a Tea Party. That's why Ron Paul is somewhat popular. Republicans are disillusioned, not Democrats. Come November Democrats will all trot down to the elementary school to pull a lever for BO. Republicans will still be bickering over which candidate should have (had) the nomination.
