Liberals not happy until every job shipped to China

Except that they didn't really give us the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights was a sop given to opponents of the Constitution.

nice change of subject when you don't know anything.

Anyway, both sides wanted the Bill of Rights but one side was scared that by bringing it up it would get the government involved in basic rights which, given the evil nature of governnment, might turn out badly.

welcome to your first lesson in American history.

I didn't change the subject. You're the one who brought the Bill of Rights in the discussion. And no, supporters of the Constitution didn't want a Bill of Rights to be added. They thought it was unnecessary (or, at least, that's what they said publicly).

Anyway, both sides wanted the Bill of Rights but one side was scared that by bringing it up it would get the government involved in basic rights which, given the evil nature of governnment, might turn out badly. Thats why they said it was "unnecessary". Obviously they were for free speech!!!

That's not what actually happened. You're just absolutely wrong. In fact, it's much more likely that those who thought it was "unnecessary" were saying it to soothe opponents, while knowing the opponents were correct.

what???? there were no opponents of free speech!!! Those who opposed it were afraid what evil government would do if it government determined what basic civil rights were.

Welcome to your first lesson in American History. You just learned what the liberals don't want you to know

Who said there were opponents to free speech? If you were capable of keeping up with the conversation, the reference to "opponents" refers to opponents of the Constitution. The Bill of Rights was proposed by supporters to pick off people who were leaning toward the opponents.

It was a revolution against the Hudson Bay Company that had gamed the system and managed a Fascist relationship with the crown so Americans were to be taxed for growing and selling tea and other products in competition with Hudson's Bay.

didn't see that in the Declaration or Constitution?? or think anyone on earth believes it was a revolution against the Hudson Bay Company? Welcome to your first lesson in American history
Ed, Huggy has you. That is why you folks are called tea baggers, ed.
The revolution was about not wanting to be ruled by the brit's. Lots of issues, but the primary issues of the day had to do with corporate power, and as Huggy said, the Hudson Bay Company. And importantly, the East India Company.

It was, ed, about corporations controlling government to the detriment of the people. It was specifically about the East India Company getting the british gov to put taxes ONLY on american tea. To the great benefit of the east india corp.

You may want to think about that for a moment, as it has a whole lot to do with todays corps control of the gov, odly enough, fully supported by todays tea party.

Hey THANKS! You pulled my ass out of the fire! I was trying to remember which company was involved primarily and you are righty right. The Hudson's Bay was a player but the East India Tea Company was the one that was shipping the tea and passing on the tax. Thanks again.

It[the American Revolution] was, ed, about corporations controlling government to the detriment of the people. .

1) show me in the Declaration or Constitution or admit to being a perfect fool!!!

2) oddly it is liberals like BO who want the tight relationships with business as in socialism or Obamacare while the Republicans who want capitalism.

See why we are positive a liberal will be slow??

I never said everyone supported the Constitution. There were a lot of people at the time who opposed it.

Ed,
I did not suggest anything being in the Declaration or in the constitution. Those issues were covered by the laws of the states. You would know that if you looked that direction. The founders were very much affraid of corporations, and regulated their activities and their length of life. You would know that if you ever listened to anything but the tea party dogma.

And you must first have some idea of what socialism is before calling people socialists. Obamacare, as your dogma requires you to call it, is FAR from socialism. Take for example that all the insurance providers are corporations, and none are the government.

Probably to difficult for you to understand, and does not fit in with your tea bagging dogma.
