It used to be that they could point to countries like Sweden as a counterpoint to countries like North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. ("buh-buh-buh-but, they're not REALLY socialist/communist!"). Basically, liberals were saying that those Asian and Hispanic socialists/communists were doing it wrong, but those enlightened, white Europeans were doing it right.

And yet all it takes is a little influx of illegal immigrants to make the entire European, socialist house of cards to fall down. You can't even go out alone in certain neighborhoods in Europe without getting raped. You can't even go to a concert without wondering, "Am I going to die in an attack tonight?"
