Ah, but the Right would have us believe that innovation is being throttled by high taxes. That the super rich 'job creators' have no incentive to do anything because they can't bear the thought of paying an extra 3% on their last million so they'd rather not even make it.

The first Automobile in America was made by the Dureya Brothers in 1893 yet the DMV (as we know it now) wasn't established until 1915!
Question for you Liberals: How is it possible that a revolutionary vehicle like that was made without the direct support of a giant gov't agency?
I understand what you're getting at, but I don't think your analogy is the best. The DMV exists to regulate motor vehicle use. It has no hand in the manufacturing of automobiles. With 300 million people in this country and the vast majority of households owning more than one car, I would shutter to think of the chaos on the streets without the DMV.

That's actually a good point, but the Police Department has Police Officers, Detectives and BOLO's for such a thing. (When they're not running Radar Guns on us!)Next time you're in an accident caused by another driver, and the police are able to track them down because you got the license plate, you can thank your DMV.
The tax you pay on a gallon of gas is supposed to be used for road maintenance. But congratulations, you did better than all the other Liberals combined! Repped!Next time you go out driving, and you notice that the roads are reasonably safe for driving, you can thank your registration fee.
