Our unemployemnt rate is high at 8.2 but compared to Michigan 14.1 and California 12.5 as well as most of the other States, Texas is still doing better. Our housing market also has fared better than many. The mortgage delinquency rate is 5.78 percent, compared with 8.78 nationwide, that's according to First American CoreLogic.
