Google, GE, etc can keep their profits offshore to avoid higher corporate taxes put in place by their liberal politicians....but you're worried about some rich person only paying capital gains taxes on their wealth sitting in stocks, bonds and banks.

OK. Let's get real. All too many wealthy people from all segments of the poltitical landscape do this. So, let's just fix it so it cannot be done. Easy enough, except there is no way to get that pass the present Congress. For some reason, the GOP just seems to think such offshoring in tax havens is the right thing to do.

Ah, the GOP is proposing a revamping of the tax laws to do just that...but Barack Obama is rejecting that and calling for tax increases because it will make his progressive base (the ones that don't understand economics) happy. The shift of investment capital into tax havens is exactly what WILL occur if this idiotic tax increase is pushed through and the result will be less revenue and more people out of work.

Then we'll have perplexed progressives lamenting that people with wealth aren't "cooperating" with the effort to take that wealth away and asking why business investment is declining. They'll probably blame it on racism. It's reached the point of farce.
