I am totally on board with net neutrality, and unlike most of you, for me this issue is not only of personal interest , but professional interest as well

The pressure for control isn't coming from liberals, or liberalism, either.

It's coming from internet providers who see the parcing of internet into parts as their path to charging people more for the service,

Telling people that this is a "liberal" issue is simply wrong.

This is an EVERYBODY issue, really.

Honestly not every issue can be veiwed though this ridiculous political POV some of you think decribes everty issue that faces us.

The internet is a lawless place and pointing it out ain't news. Your idea that this is somehow proof that libs want to control the internet (since we somehow know that they control yahoo finance) is nothing but pure conspiracy crap.

How did Wikileaks get all of that information?

I've held a security clearance. No friggen private released all of that stuff. Doing a search for all of that would have raised red-flags all over the place. Nobody has access to that much information other then the Pentagon itself. It had to have been released under cover by the current Administration. The fact that they refused to investigate till now is alarming at best and very suspicious. Problem with this is they're very clever so it's tough to prove who was responsible.

Yes if only they weren't so good we'd have some proof for this conspiracy theory.

May I direct you again to the 'extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof' maxim.

A side not: This PFC was gay. We're talking about repealing DADT and a homosexual is supposedly responsible for the worst intel leak in United States history...during Obama's watch no less. Figure the odds on anyone using this to argue against repealing it.

If they want to argue this proves gays are a security leak they'd be idiots.

This isn't a 'government' problem and this isn't a 'childrens' problem. It's a parenting problem, or rather . . a lack of parenting problem. An awful lot of parents just don't want to be bothered these days. They don't want to say no to their kids, they want to be buddies with them. How's that workin' out so far?

Why in the world parents think that their kids 'need' cell phones and computers in their rooms, at such young ages, is beyond me. Do they really not get that their kids can access anything they want? They're giving their kids too much freedom before the kids can handle the responsibility. And it only takes one or two instigators to get things rolling for the worse. Why don't they just leave their doors and windows open to let anyone who wants wander in? That's exactly what they're doing when they let their kids have all the technology they want.

The government has long wished to shut down competing media such as Rush Limbaugh and the new media on the internet.

This is the Trojan Horse they have been hoping for.

Show us the text in the Net Neutrality Act that lets the government screw with Rush Limbaugh.

And don't give us this slippery slope. Passing one bill does not hypnotize the Congress into passing more bills. If they wanted the right to mess with Rush Limbaugh they would need a separate bill and a separate vote, and undoubtedly have to deal with a constitutional challenge.

It's very possible to pass one bill without the other.
