FORT LEE, N.J. – A New Jersey town took to ticketing pedestrians caught texting while walking after a rise in jaywalking incidents.

Police in Fort Lee., N.J., say people are constantly putting themselves at risk of being hit by cars because they do not pay attention while walking.

Texting while crossing a street does seem like a rather stupid thing to do.

I'm more than a little dubious of the theory that people who are walking on the sidewalk are going to get fined for doing so.
