you're as dumb as a sack of hair. I never said that you said anything about Lott being elected. Lott never ran for president. And you DID say this:

So... given the fact that Strom Thurmond WAS a racist, who DID run for president on a racist platform in 1948, and given the fact that Truman ran on neither a racist platform nor a socialist one, your suggestion that Strom Thurmond could possibly do what was better for America than Harry Truman is inane and offensive.

Perhaps you should stick to topics that don't showcase your ignorance?

good question.. maybe you can explain why the leader of YOUR party in the United States Senate said, in 2002, that America would be a better place TODAY if we had elected a racist segregationist in 1948 instead of Harry Truman.

This had to do with the republican leader of the united states senate, a mere eight years ago, expressing his opinion that America would be better off TODAY if we HAD elected Strom Thurmond running on the Dixiecrat platform and all that entailed, instead of Harry Truman.
