Liberal demonstrators scream "racist" and "fascist" and rip Santorum signs

Gateway pundit has the article and video. I hope all our candidates start beefing up security. Don't you just love how the left believes in free speech?

About 20 liberal demonstrators tried to shout down Rick Santorum while he delivered his stump speech on the steps of the state capitol building here Sunday, yelling “racist” and “fascist” at the Republican presidential candidate.

The anti-Santorum faction began chanting “Get your hate out of our state” when the candidate started his address. Standing before a microphone at the top of the steps, Santorum ignored them and continued speaking. The demonstration lasted about 15 minutes.

Santorum supporters standing near the front of the crowd tried to come to his aid by holding signs in front of the demonstrators and shouting, “We pick Rick! We pick Rick!” Some of the anti-Santorum demonstrators ripped the signs out of supporters’ hands.

That's just wrong. The correct terms are "homophobe" and "misogynist".

Welllllllllllllll......you could probably fit “racist”, in there....easily-enough....along with liar.

Liberals only believe in their free speech. They are Bigots and prone to violent and outrageous outbreaks. Anyone Identified in the Video should be charged with Assault and Obstruction. I don't know why they think, only themselves entitled to Civil Rights. It seems the more things heat up, the less the Law matters to them. They seem to know no shame.

Und der Katze sagt:

Well, he did pick a public forum in which to speak, and you can rest assured that if the speaker was a rabble-rousing leftist, the teabaggies would have been there doing the same. And how, exactly, could we be sure the "20 liberal demonstrators" were not Republican ringers, sent there to make the left look bad?

Good point. It is all theatre. It's all about using the media. These tactics have been used successfully for as long as there have been audiences to sway. It has kept people like Goebles and Rove employed for mileniums.

Who was that pounding on the windows and screaming at the chad counters in Florida? Why it was our now esteemed Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts..that's who.

Theatre.

I don't understand why you guys can't understand that "free speech" is a two-way street, though.

Every day, I see Conservatives posting threads on how "liberals" "hate" "free speech", using things like this as an example.

But this isn't "hating free speech" - this is people using their right to free speech.
...while trying to deny others' free speech.

Your rights don't trump anyone else's.

I'm watching history begin to repeat itself. Wait till OWS goes bonkers on Chicago during the G8 and G20 Summits.

Days of Rage II.

I really think serious security details should be set up for the candidates. A mob tried to beat up the French President and there was that incident with the Prime Minister of Australia earlier this year.

Everything is getting more violent. Ahhh the 99%. Peace love and doves.

Have you made the mistake of equating these people with the peace and love hippies of the 60s? Different group here. OWS and the associated populist movements are more similar in temperament to the socialist/populist/labor movements of the 20s-30s. In reality they are not like anything we have ever seen with their tech savvy social networking skills. I can't say where it all will go but someone has to do something about the boomers trying to take it all with them when they die.

Don't get too full o' yourself.

"Vets" Joining-In

"Older activists like Johnsen — some hobbling along on canes and leg braces — are quickly becoming a presence at “Occupy” protests across the country. And the veterans of the civil rights movement, anti-Vietnam war protests and anti-nuclear proliferation demonstrations appear to be relishing being back in the struggle, supporting the “kids” and mobilizing other seniors to join in.

The respect is mutual. Cara Hartley, 27, a New York restaurant hostess involved in outreach for the “Occupy” movement, said the older activists brought skills and experience in keeping a large group of people safe and peaceful. (Until the wannabe-anarchists decided to participate.)

Another aspect was “just showing solidarity with this sort of youthful movement and showing the world it’s not just young people who are being affected, but it’s people from all walks of life, all generations that are struggling right now,” she said. The elders’ presence also gives “the sense that we can accomplish things. Like, we’ve done this before … we can make this work,” she said."

Due to your (obvious) History-challenged condition, you need to be reminded that the boomers (excluding the Yuppie-faction, of course) aren't able to....

What was once considered Radical, is now considered Preferential.

Is there a name for "hates education"?
Yes: "Leftist horseshit meme".

Don't be dense, they might be "using their free speech", but their only PURPOSE is to take away someone else's free speech.

They're not "taking away" anyone's "free speech".
Rick Santorum isn't in prison. He hasn't been "silenced".

He got shouted down by protesters. That's all.

The right to "free speech" doesn't include a right to be heard.
Funny how that doesn't seem to apply to leftists. If you don't immediately and unquestioningly agree with them, you're "oppressing" them.

You mean it's the same radicals, they just arent pretending to be for peace and love this time around. They are demonstrating it more like the Weather Underground and their parents did in the 30s.

It's been the same group every few decades. The Robbers among us.

I'm giving 10:1 that won't penetrate the bubble.

Any takers? :eusa_whistle:
Yes, yes, yes..."Free speech" also means that you get to be aggressively disruptive of the peaceable assembly, of people wishing to hear someone else speak.

Shut up. You're only speaking out against them because you hate free speech!:cuckoo:

Now tell me why that doesn't apply to the people attempting to silence Santorum.

Who thinks protests should be polite? Well they are shouldn't, they should be as disruptive and irritating to the target as possible.

Disruptive and irritating will get you pepper sprayed or worse, folks aren't going to put up with this kind of shit much longer...

Real protests always carry the risk of official retaliation, goes with the territory. Think about the results of any protest movement that has been strengthened by police brutality against them. Police beatings are to be expected, camera phones are going to make their usual claims of the mob starting it kind of thin this time around, all police brutality will be recorded.
Remember, folks, it's "brutality" when police enforce the law.

Seriously, I hope you guys are joking. This fear-mongering nonsense is getting RIDICULOUS.

Fearmongering? How the heck is it fearmongering when the Occupy people are promising a violent summer? Are you suggesting we should ignore them? We should ignore history because you don't want to be afraid?
Who is "promising" a "violent" summer? Link?

The "Occupy" people - or at least the large-scale organizers of the "Occupy" protests are mostly personally known to me. They're friends and former co-workers, and contacts of mine from work. None of them are planning anything "violent".
Wait a second. We've been repeatedly assured that there are no leaders to the Occupy movement.

Were we lied to?

"Assault"? "Obstruction"?

They didn't "assault" anyone, and there's no such crime as "obstruction".

Ripping signs out of people's hands can be charged as assault, yes.

Somebody ought to call the brothers Grimm.

They'd appreciate witnessing such a gathering of trolls.

Typically that species tends to be rather solitary.

It must be troll mating season or something

Perhaps you should go to an Obama rally and attempt to shout him down.
