“Jazz & Friends is teaching kids about different identities that exist within our community and about how to allow people to be respectful of others’ identities,” Jennifer Herdina, Welcoming Schools lead for the Madison Metropolitan School District, told HRC in an interview. “We’re normalizing these topics and correcting a lot of the stigma and misconceptions that have existed within our communities for a very long time.”

Kids are not stupid. They are aware of differences in gender identity and sexual orientation. You can't hide it from them. Responsible adults- responsible educators have to address the issue so that these kids don't become fearful, mindless bigots and bullies like you. There needs to be an educational process so that kids who are experiencing gender dysphoria or questioning their sexual orientation are supported and respected and given permission to explore who they are instead of being rejected, shamed and marginalized....which can only lead to self destructive behavior and mental health issues.
