I think she would have stood up to the right more, but I don't think it'd gotten her anywhere. Women can't be tough without looking bitchy, and no one likes a bitchy woman, even other bitchy women. So I think in that respect, she'd fare poorly.

But Obama has been such an unmitigated disaster, it's easy to think ANYONE could do a better job.

I think the thing was, Democrats thought they could avoid the kind of drama that they had if they bypassed Hillary and with with Obama. They concluded it was personal and not idealogical.
