Let me tell you about my awesome day at the doctors

I, for one, am so excited about our republicans killing healthcare reform. I mean I was so happy to go to a doctor clinic today and feel the freedom of healthcare. I mean I only had to fill out like 10 pieces of paper and show my insurance card but boy they did give me alot of time in the waiting room to fill it out. Not only did I have an awesome time waiting for over an hour to get a physical, but I got to see many sick people who were waiting for more than a couple hours.

I also had to talk to four different office assistants about my insurance and what they would cover. Also while up there I saw the assistants dealing with different paperwork from different insurance companies and all on the phone talking with insurance companies.

Thank god we are trying to stop healthcare from becoming something better. Awesome.

The sad part is that you believe a government run bureaucracy will be more efficient. You think an hr wait is bad!! lol:cuckoo:

Most of the time we use TriCare with is government run. Very happy with it.

"I really don't know but I don't like going to the doctor's here in america"

Real simple solutions to this pumpkin......either DO NOT go to the doctor or just move the hell out of America.

What the hell is the big deal with a company choosing to offer their employees health coverage in your mind?????? It is a means of assuring they keep good employees and most DO offer good affordable coverage. You sound an awfully lot someone that simply wants to be "taken care of" with no personal responsibility at all! My husband and I pay just shy of $300.00 a month for medical insurance through the company he works for. That includes, vision, dental, life, supplemental life, short term and long term disability and we are perfectly happy with the service we have received and the money we pay out for it. Without it, my recent medical bills would have topped 40K. Out of pocket expenses was a mere $2500.00. So you keep right on whining and complaining. Trust me, if you ever have to seriously use what you have for more than a doctors visit you'll change your tune.

Listen, I love America born and raised, but I went to a doctor in Canada because my fish allergies were acting up because the dish I ate had fish in it. When I got into the emergency room, I sat for fifteen minutes, got treated and was released within two hours. We got a bill from them for only 30 bucks for everything.

Went to the emergency room here in America, spent an hour in the waiting room then took another hour in the room with serious intestinal pain. Then I had to take a CT scan for what reason, I don't know. Then I get the bill and AFTER my insurance kicked in, I owed 70 dollars for the physician and 300 dollars to the hospital itself.

We can be better, and to say people who want it done better are socialist and "should leave america" is truly being an ignorant conservative redneck. Knowing your handle, its seems I am right.

Dude, you think that's bad?

I pay $2,000 a year for insurance on my home and they don't pay anything for routine maintenance. What a rip.

[sarcasm = 1000] I mean who do those people think they are, not paying to fix my leaky faucet or re-staining my deck !!! WHAT A GREAT SYSTEM. [/sarcasm]

But I will certainly be thankful for my insurance if my house burns down, or it's blown away by a tornado...because that's what insurance is for.

Might want to ask those hit by Katrina about that.

I am just sooooooooooo sooooooooooo sorry YOUR employer chooses to get you crappy insurance. And I'm soooooooooo sooooooooo sorry you had to buy private insurance and chose a crappy insurance company for your wife and son. They must feel really really special! I have NO copay with the insurance company my husbands company chooses for their insurance for their employees. Just recently had major back surgery, 4 days in the hospital. All told, final out of pocket expenses for my doc, the hospital, the anesthesiologist, and the radiologist was only $2500.00. Don't blame your employer not giving a fk about you on anyone other than your employer! And please do not blame the fact YOU chose crappy insurance for your wife and son on anyone but yourself! Again, they must feel really special huh?

Which gets to the crux of the healthcare problem. Why do we let a decision as important as our healthcare be made by employers?
They are interested in profit, not making sure their employees are provided good insurance. More and more employers are moving to cheaper policies or eliminating coverage altogether.
Who is going to pick up the slack?

You don't have to let your employer choose your coverage, bro. You can work for any company in the world that provides its employees health insurance and you can still decline it and choose your own health insurance. Of course, it'll cost you a hell of a lot more, but that's the beauty of freedom, right?? The American healthcare system at its best -- charging you $700 a month for health insurance!

so save the money youreself and pay cash, then quit your bitching and demanding that your neighbors pay your way through life

Robert, once again you have helpfully pointed out how ignorant people are about their own insurance. Damage by wind is a covered hazard; damage by flooding as a result of damage by wind is a covered hazard. Damage by flooding resulting from waters rising in flood zones is not covered by ordinary hazard insurance policies, but insurance for that hazard is available in a seperate rider or policy.

A roof being torn off by a tornado would be covered, as would a roof being torn off by a hurricane.

20% of all healthcare expenditures in America is on paperwork, administration, etc., by far the largest of any developed nation on the planet.

This is so inefficient.

Sooo, let's throw it all out the window, and do a government plan?

I thought the plan was to do both.......Thats why it is called an option

That's not what I said.

It is worth nothing, however, that all the other developed nations have some sort of national government-sponsored health-care system, and they all have lower percentages spent on bureaucracy.

It would be an option now, Rightwinger. Not so sure in the future, and as Obama has stated in 2007, it would take 10-20 years to see the private insurance companies disappear.
Yes, the insurance companies have a lot of paperwork, and administrative costs...I agree. The government has less...a lot less....why?, They don't have to pay taxes. Overages are covered by more taxing, not having to worry about a profit. Less paperperwork, and less administrative costs leads to more fraud, and waste.
Why do I say this? Because I look at Social Security, Medicare, and Welfare, they are all fiscal disasters.

You didn't say that, but I felt you were implying it.

my waiting time??? about 15 mins. why is that????

Witch doctors just don't have the crowds normal docs do.

How is that some people measure everything in life based on their experiences or their wished and hoped for experiences. It is like seeing what you want to see rather than looking.

Or, it could be that people are simply overly whiny, because they think they're owed something by the masses in life, simply because they were born.

I'm guessing chucklehead failed to mention that this was his *first* visit to that clinic; thus the need to fill out so many different forms, and try to figure out what was covered by his insurance, AND the wait for a lousy physical while people with more pressing matters were seen to.
