Let Me Get This Straight About Impeachment Over Trump's Ukraine Phone Call

So, if I run for president, I cannot be prosecuted because doing so will be seen as a "thing of value" to my opponent?

Of course not. You can be prosecuted for anything. The issue here is the sitting President using the power of their office to dig up "dirt" on an opponent. You people turning a blind eye to this for spurious, partisan reasons are really fucking this country in the ass with your idiocy.

The real problem here isn't that Trump's actions weren't impeachable. It's that Democrats spent the bulk of their political capital on the Russian nonsense (and similar nothing-burgers) and now that they finally have their smoking gun, they're the boy who cried wolf.

If Biden or his son committed a crime, it is not "dirt", dumbass!
Since they didn't, then I guess that makes it dirt.

Incorrect. There was no Russian nonsense. What Mueller concluded was that Russia did interfere. What Mueller could not do was charge Trump with a crime because the DOJ can't indict a sitting president as a matter of policy.
Mueller's investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities

Mueller's investigation did not make the factual determination that Trump, with corrupt intent, committed an constructive act that interfered with an investigation..

So... why do you think you have something here?

Trump asked a foreign country to dig up dirt on his political opponent.
Look at you, engaged in a lie of omission.

That "political opponent" was the VP of the US, and the "dirt" he wanted looked into is the potentially corrupt acts taken by that person -while in office- for personal gain.
That is, Trump asked a foreign country, with which we have a treaty in place for this very thing, to help him do his job

The reaction by the lunatic left?
IMPEACH HIM!!!!!!!
The only omissions here are by you. And they are omissions of truth. The country he made that request to had already determined there was no corruption by the Bidens.

Then, explain why you left out the facts noted in same.

Trump asked a foreign country to dig up dirt on his political opponent.

Trump didn't ask that same foreign country to investigate anyone else for 'corruption', he didn't ask the FBI to investigate his political opponent.

Then Trump asked Communist China to do the same thing.

And the Trumpkins find this all okey dokey.

If one of the Clintons were caught doing this, I wonder how they'd react?
Please. You have to ask?

You can't even acknowledge that Trump did in fact ask two foreign countries to dig up dirt on his political rival.
And again lying by omission, you neglected to point out that Trump didn't ask Ukraine to investigate ANYONE else- except his political rival- and his political rival's son.
Ukraine has had tons of corruption- but the only corruption that Trump specifically and personally asked both Ukraine and China to investigate is the 'corruption' alleged by the President.
And no- fighting corruption in Ukraine is not the President's job. Asking the Communist Chinese government to investigate his political rival is not his job.

IF any President suspected any American of crimes in a foreign country- then his obligation would be to ask the FBI and maybe the Attorney General to investigate- he has absolutely no obligation to ask any foreign government.

The reaction by the loyal Trumpkins is of course always the same- spin, lie, rationalize- ask your Messiah said himself- he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and you would still vote for him.

If you read the Mueller report carefully, you understand that he did not get all the information he needed to make a determination. He indicted Russians he could not get extradited to testify , people lied to him, they erased information on phones, they were instructed by Trump not to say things, and other similar tactics. You fail to mention this part of his report.

Ok... and...?

Apparently it’s because the blob asked a foreign power to investigate the son of a political opponent in return for military aid.

Where was military aid mentioned by Trump in the phone call? Or did the second hand whistle blower read between the lines because being a partisan enemy of the president, he was looking for the slightest thing he could use for the Democrat party to rally around?

If the whistle blower so called, was just a random person without bias there would never have been a report on something so slight, and if the call was such a big deal, why didn't the person who handed off the incorrect information to the whistle blower make the report himself? Why? because this is the game the democrats like to play to get what they want. Trump is an outsider who is upsetting things for corrupt democrats and republicans alike, which is why he was made into Hitler by the Dems from the very beginning, he has to go by any means necessary.

Trump withheld the military aid before the phone call. That action was the threat and then he said we give you a lot of money and we want you to investigate Biden.

We don't even know who the whistleblower is and you are assigning bias. The fact is that the whistleblower's complaint has been proven. Trump is corrupt. He hires lobbyists to oversee the areas they lobbied in and sometimes the companies they worked in. Trump's rise to power and Hitler's rise to power were similar. Both scapegoated groups of people by using xenophobia.
thats not what trump said or what happened,,

and the WBers complaint has been proven wrong,,, you need to find another source for you info,,,

You are dense.
1. Trump withholds military aid to Ukraine
2. Trump tells Ukrainian President the US gives a lot of money to Ukraine
3. Trump asks for investigation of Biden even though there is no US investigation and Hunter Biden is under no suspicion of having broken any Ukrainian laws

The threat is clear.
You left out ....

4. Trump then gives Ukraine the $250 million.
5. Trump throws in an extra $140 million for such obedient cooperation.
Looks like a clear case of bribery

Impeach him

You
Not for lack of trying.

What keeps Trump from becoming that kind of horror is his personal incompetence and the fact that he can't formulate a "coherent" strategy.

So, while seemingly trying to object to "Trump is unlike Hitler", you add more evidence to demonstrate how "Trump is unlike Hitler."
somehow missed the point.

He is only "unlike Hitler" because of incompetence and lack of coherent strategy

If he was any better at his "job" he'd be as bad...He's probably more like Mussolini than Hitler but the distinction is pretty irrelevant
Yeah Right.

DEMOCRATS: TRUMP’S WORSE THAN HITLER!

Also Democrats: Let’s give him extensive warrantless spying powers!

Media Looks Away As House Quietly Approves Warrantless Spying

While cameras were trained on the impeachment hearings in the House, lawmakers slipped away last week to vote for a continuing resolution that, if passed by the Senate, will fund the government through December 20.

But that’s not all it will do. Democratic leaders added language that extends some of the most controversial provisions of the Patriot Act, tucked into a section of this must-pass bill titled “Other Matters.”

It includes an extension of three Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) authorities until March 15, 2020, and section 215, which, as Edward Snowden exposed, the government uses to justify sweeping mass surveillance, warrantless search powers, and the call detail records (CDR) program.

By sneaking this provision into a must-pass bill, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi forced liberal Democrats to choose between allowing these provisions to sunset or funding the government.

Just as Democrats are decrying President Donald Trump’s abuse of executive powers, they’re busy giving his administration an extension of those same powers, said Justin Amash, a congressman from Michigan and former Republican, who added, “it’s surreal.”

Amash submitted an amendment to strip the Patriot Act language from the budget bill, but Democrats on the Rules Committee blocked the amendment.

The Patriot Act extension passed the House with nearly all Democrats voting in favor. If it clears the Senate and Trump signs it into law, Democrats will now be responsible for enabling warrantless surveillance against Americans.

“Yesterday, Speaker Pelosi said the president has ‘abused his power for his own personal, political benefit.’ Today, she wants to extend the president’s power to do warrantless surveillance of Americans,” Amash wrote on Twitter.
