Panetta is a YES man like Gates. He'll go along with the dismantling of DOD without objection. CIA is a good place to put Petraeus until 2012 and then the pres will fire him.

I might be crazy, but I did not make any of this up.

An interesting side note, Gates specifically said that there would be no boots on the ground in Libya as long as he was Secretary of Defense. It seems he will not have that job for very long.
