In my day it was an insult, now the majority of youths see it favorably while capitalism is seen as wrong and greedy. That happened through steady indoctrination, maybe not in your class but it can't be an accident.

The schools are engaged actively in brainwashing our kids via federally funded "programs" that they insert into the classroom...displacing valuable classes like history, science, or English, with things like "STREAM" and "CODE ACADEMY" and "SOCIAL STUDIES" and "LANGUAGE ARTS". None of those are actual subjects. They are PROGRAMS, pushed and funded by the feds, to teach communist pap to our children in place of true history, literature (which must be avoided because it increases the ability to effectively communicate while also providing HISTORICAL context to things).

One of my daughter's teachers spent a significant portion of the school year teaching the children to recognize and discount "fake news". She spent an entire year in Language Arts learning complete garbage about BRAIN FUNCTION....while being forced to read books that teach them how to be racist and sexually depraved.

Unfortunately for the under-educated conservative nitwits infesting this thread, we live in a representative democracy. You are not responsible for the decisions made by local school boards in Pennsylvania, are you? If not, how do you dictate to them what and how things are taught in their school districts? Elected liberals will push liberal agendas.

The bone of contention I have is with those who think this problem is widespread throughout this nation, when the opposite is most assuredly the case.

When I lived in Florida, it was always fun to watch any conservative bitch and complain about liberalism infecting the public schools. The problem was in that Republicans ran most of the local school boards, held control of the state school board, and had majorities in the states house and a Republican governor. This was the case for years, but the dutiful conservative ignoramuses were always there to flail about and blame liberals who had neither input nor control over anything!
