No, here's what changed.

1) The government Actually CUT BACK on funding these schools.

They’re wrong. States have collectively scaled back their annual higher education funding by $9 billion during that time, when adjusted for inflation, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, or CBPP, reports.

2) The Universities themselves engaged in kind of an Arms Race to develop better programs, facilities and Amenities, to attract those Student Dollars.

3) Because most entry level jobs require a Bachelor's Degree today, simple law of supply and demand, when demand for something goes up, you can charge more for it.

Now, going back to my example of UIC (Go Flames, said no one ever) In 1985, when I went there, we had about 25,000 Students. . That number hasn't increased much, to only about 29,000 today.

What has increased is the percentage of Americans with College Degrees. in 1986, it was only 19%. Today it's 33%. So the demand has doubled, while the supply hasn't. In fact, quite the contrary, my nieces and nephew tell me most of their classes are taught by Adjunct professors and TA's, as opposed to when I was in, we had full tenured professors teaching most of the classes.

You once again proved that the policies you support create the problems you cry about it.

There was a reason why Bush had to scream "Read my Lips, no New Taxes". It was because little Zombies like you were upset Reagan pretty much reversed his 1981 tax cuts when they didn't work, to the point where by 1988, they were almost the same as a percentage of GDP as they were when he started.

But True Story. Ronald Reagan was the only Republican who didn't totally fuck up, so you guys ignore that he raised taxes, expanded Social Security, gave Amnesty to the Mexicans, and all the other things that would be heresy in the Cult of Trump today.

Because honestly, if you take Reagan out of the equation, you'd have to go back to Eisenhower to find a Republican President who wasn't a complete fuck up.
