A couple of other points: The Democratic Senators are unanimous in opposition to Frist's "nuclear option." That includes Senator Biden, Senator Nelson, Senator Salazar, Senator Pryor and Senator Lieberman. All Democrats stand with with Reid in opposition to Frist's "nuclear option."

Democrats stand united against the unconstitutional nuclear option. We have a responsibility to protect checks and balances, not violate them. My offer protects those checks and balances.

“The American people want less partisanship in this town, but everyone in this chamber knows that if the majority chooses to end the filibuster — if they choose to change the rules and put an end to democratic debate — then the fighting and the bitterness and the gridlock will only get worse,” Obama said in the April 2005 speech in Washington.

Yes reid is a hypocritic for now supporting something he used to be against. However, What's also hypocritical is republicans trying to make political hay off of reid supporting what republcians once supported but are now against all because they are in the minority. LOL

the republicans used to pretend that they hated tjhe filibuster and often attacked the minority dems accusing them of obstruction, however, now that republicans are in the minority they have no problem being what they once attacked and condemned.

7 republicans voted against a bill that they co-sponsored all so they could try to prevent the obama administration and the dems from accomplishing something.

Republicans who voted AGAINST the stimulus bill are running around back in their home districts bragging that they brought money back home which created jobs even as they argue that the stimulus created no jobs.

Republican are now running against things that they used to support and supporting what they used to be against almost on a constant basis but do you see that hypocrisy as well or do your beer goggles make you blind to republican hypocrisy??

Well, a few differences.
The Republicans were talking about judicial appointments, which should be the prerogative of the president. The Senate is there merely to "advise and consent." Insisting on a 2/3rds majority is no longer advise and consent. The Dems are talking about remaking 1/6th of our economy.
In the end Frist did not invoke that option. We'll see if Reid is stupid enough to go for it.
And the argument "Mom, he did it first" just fails from the get-go.
