MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF)- A family claims a girl was raped by a student in a Sparkman Middle School bathroom, and is now suing the school board.

The lawsuit claims a Sparkman Middle School teacher, June Simpson, is accused of influencing the 14-year-old girl by telling her to follow a boy into the bathroom, and that the girl would be safe.

It says that the boy had been propositioning girls to have sex with him at school, but that teachers were aware of it and were watching the boy closely.

The lawsuit also says Simpson coerced the girl into meeting the boy so he could be caught in the act.

It later states that the girl was raped and sexually assaulted by the defendant in the school's sixth-grade bathroom.

Simpson is one of six defendants named in the lawsuit. The others are the principal, two assistant principals, the boy who allegedly raped the girl and the Madison County School Board.

Raped in a sixth grade bathroom? This boy had a history? WTF is wrong with these people?

If the boy had a history, then he should have been expelled. Where is this no tolerance crap? If he had a history that is sexual harassment.

People watch too much "Law and Order" these days syrenn. The sad fact is that many administrators are so afraid of lawsuit from the perp's family, that they do nothing to protect the victims. Teachers in my school have given up turning kids in for smoking unless they see the smoker with a lit butt in hand. If they are in the stall they cry "wasn't me" and nothing is done. Enforcing school rules has now become a matter of "guilt beyond a reasonable doubt". These keystone cops wanted that proof before they even suspended this rapist.

Well they have the proof now. Disgusting.

Is't that just like the rest of the world. Protect the perps every right? I am rather sick of it.

However if they knew this boy had a history, that teacher should have NEVER allowed him to be alone with a female...let alone have him act as escort to the bathroom.

I agree totally. When I read stories like this, I think "Where have all the grownups gone?" That seems like a plan orchestrated by the Middle schoolers themselves.

If I were in charge, these types of young criminals would be expelled until the cops completed a full investigation. You wanna sue me? "Get in back of the fucking line!".

If teachers cant protect students from the simple things like bullying, i hardly think they will be able to protect students from criminals.

I agree, if i was in charge that kid would have been expelled from the first charge.

Has that teacher been fired? I surely would have insisted on that if I were on that school board.
