Could you explain to me how defunding Planned Parenthood gets anyone involved in another person's business? Personally, I would be more concerned about the strings that feds always attack to money, and how they use it to justify poking their nose into things that are not their business. The intent was to declare independence from England, and it amounted to a declaration of war. Your dismissal of it as a blog post shows that you either underestimate its importance, or you over estimate the impact of letters to the editor.

Do any of us deserve the freedoms in the Constitution? Probably not. But thanks to the grace of God, we have them. Do we deserve life? No. We choose sin and the fruit of sin is death. But Lord in His mercy provided us a probationary period where we can repent of our sins. And He provided for us a Savior, Jesus Christ, who atoned for our sins and rose from the grave to give life to all men.

Do we deserve liberty? No. But through the grace of God, we have been given an Atonement that allows us to be reconciled with God and with that which is good and lovely and wholesome. We have been given the freedom to make choices and live with their consequences, or despite them.

Do we deserve to be happy? No. But through the grace of God we can be reconciled with God and with His Eternal laws. We can become righteous through the Blood of Christ. And righteousness is the path to happiness because wickedness never was happiness.

So do we deserve the freedoms our Constitution provides us? Do we deserve life liberty and the pursuit of happiness? No. But the Lord God, through His grace, raised up wise men who established our Constitution and our Republic for a wise purpose. And we should be Eternally grateful that He did so. Because we are blessed beyond anything we deserve.
