What IS a LATINO, anyway?

I agree with that! Cubans (since most are in FL and are Republicans), Argentinians, Colombians, Peruvians, Brazilians (esp them since they don't speak spanish), Costa Ricans etc. are all very different than each other and most see themselve different in every way, except language-wise from Mexicans!

How am I delussional. I acknowledge that all secs of who we call Latinos are very different from each other (meaning Cubans are different than Mexicans). I acknowledge that like all immigrants, Latino immigrants the further the generation gets from the Old country the more they see themselves are only American! I stated that at 50% not change, at 75% no changes, but possibly at 90% the Southwest could do a Kosovian type split.

Just look at what happened to me.

I just said I would like to see a more respectful attitude towards Mexico's territorial losses, and this ONLY means, no more romantization of land robbers like Austin and Houston, no more celebration of historical dates related to that landgrab and war of aggression, etc, etc...

In my DESPERATE EFFORT TO BE UNDERSTOOD I even said the US is free to position its military along the border which is an absolutely radical and unnecessary measure that would make the US a bit more similar to totalitarian states.

But all my efforts didn't prevent Ghook and others from stating repeatedly that I consider the american southwest to be part of Mexico.

On the Internet, people don't read what you write, they read what they wanted you to have written so they can confirm their preexisting beliefs and conclusions.

You're a fair minded, reasonable guy and I really enjoy reading your posts.

I mostly agree with you on immigration (when I refer to the American Southwest as "occupied mexican territories" I'm just reacting to TOTAL MORONS calling for the murder of illegal immigrants trying to enter the US) .

America definitely has a right to enforce its immigration laws and the LACK OF POLITICAL WILL on the part of the american government to do so is a clear cut case of DERELICTION OF DUTY of BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS.

Hey Jose.. Aren't you glad that the US doesn't restrict your equality according to your ethnicity regardless of legal status? You are an American citizen with the exact same liberties and freedoms as a gringo like me and have no worries about our federal government trying to trick out demographics and birth rates in order to maintain a white majority.. Ask Ghook if he thinks that is a universal state policy worth spreading to pet home lands.

Comparisons between the American Southwest and Western Palestine are a dime a dozen on the Internet.

I basically gave up trying to show people the world of difference that exists between:

Mexico/Mexicans who accepted the loss of Cali, Tejas and today don't even consider those former provinces as part of their nation.

and

Palestinians who have never renounced to their right to live in Western Palestine and never will because the loss of that land is the historical event that gave rise to their national identity, what differentiates them from Syrians, Egyptians, etc.

I stated this a couple of times and then stoped.

The best teacher in the world can't teach you something you simply don't want to learn.
