Large Scale Layoffs are announced layoffs of fifty or more by employers. The Fed Gov has been telling us that they are decreasing. Well, at least that is what the government wants us to believe. The simple fact of the matter is that something has taken the place of Large Scale Layoffs.

Now, the Fed Gov and State Gov and some companies are using unpaid furloughs to reduce man hours. No layoff because the employee is still employed.

Isn't it wonderful how government can lie to us?

The state reported it is laying off a hundred people here. Factories by the dozens shut down on production in April and March of this year in this state alone.

The one factory locally here gave no notice to the average workers, that factory had been here for over fifty years. It is now producing it's products in China.

They are going to have to even this trade balance or the people here in the US are going to have to stop buying foreign products and stop selling out to foreign interest. If they don't very few people will have jobs enough to survive and this country is a goner.

hmmmm...large scale is decreasing..

That supposed to make us feel better? Large scale is still large scale. Maybe they are starting to run out of people to layoff.

It's tough especially with a little one in the family.

Where's the lie? Someone is either laid off, or not. Mass Layoff Statistics are supposed to measure mass layoffs, that's it. Seems simple enough to me. Does it tell the full story? No, but it's not supposed to. You're complaining that a phillips head screwdriver isn't good at screwing other kinds of screws.

They're decreasing because the large scale employers have been shut down, and everyone who can be laid off have been laid off.
