Dr. Sami Amin Al-Arian (Arabic: سامي العريان*; born January 14, 1958, in Kuwait, to Palestinian parents), is a former resident of Temple Terrace, Florida, now living in Northern Virginia, who is a Muslim activist, and former University of South Florida professor of computer engineering. He pled guilty in 2006 to conspiracy to contribute services to or for the benefit of the Palestine Islamic Jihad, a Specially Designated Terrorist organization.[2][8]

He was indicted in 2003 on multiple counts related to supporting a Palestinian group on the State Department's terrorist list. At his trial the jury acquitted on 8 of 17 counts, and deadlocked on the remaining 9 counts. He then pleaded guilty in 2006, pursuant to a plea agreement, to conspiracy to help a "specially designated terrorist" organization, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.[2][3][9] Al-Arian was sentenced to 57 months in prison, given credit for time served, and ordered deported following his prison term.[3] He was to serve the balance of 19 months.

In November 2006, because he refused to testify before a federal grand jury after the court held that he had no legal basis for his refusal, he was held in civil contempt and imprisoned for his contempt of court by a Virginia district court judge.[4] He served 13 months in prison for his civil contempt, until the court lifted its contempt order in December 2007.[4]

In 2007 and 2008, the United States Department of Justice subpoenaed Al-Arian to testify before a grand jury. He again refused to testify, and prosecutors charged him with criminal contempt in June 2008.[10][11] In September 2008, Al-Arian was released from detention on bond.[12] He remains under house arrest, as he awaits a trial on criminal contempt charges.[13]

This one-sided bullshit does NOT in any way discuss the actual charges brought up against Al-Arian, or his connection to Laila's "uncle", a terrorist leader of Hamas.

In addition to the above, the "uncle" that Arian's daughter is babbling about is a known terrorist leader of Hamas. And Sami Al-Arian was a conduit for moneys collected and funnelled to Hamas. Plus, Sami made inflammatory speeches with statements like "Death to Israel" etc. Here arte some of the actual statements by al-Arian: "God curse those who are the sons of Israel, through david and Jesus, the son of Mary.....Those people, God made monkeys and pigs .....and further: "Let us damn America, let us damn Israel, let us damn them and their allies until death, etc."

It is stated that "An FBI surveillance video of Prof al-Arian's fundraising tour of American mosques shows him being introduced as the "president of the Islamic Committee for Palestine ..... the active arm of the Islamic JIHAD movement.

Also, al-Arian's attorney conceded that al-Arian was an operative for Palestine Islamic Jihad. "the trial exposed the professor as having been deeply enmeshed in the internal workings of Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank mostly through its favored techniques of suicide bombings."

What we have here is another example of the LIEberrhoids trotting out a blatant case of Muslim BULLSHIT to obscure the terrorist activities of the fanatical Muslim arseholes in America itself.
