Labor Department Proposes Religious Exemption

Just another attempt to misuse religious freedom to support bigotry.

What Jesus do?

Schizoanalysis of this nazi-fascist pathology is right out of the Revelation 666 playbook whose author was the hysterical psychopath and solipsist, John (now, there was a worker!) of Patmos.

The proposed rule includes troubling definitions of "religion" and "particular religion" under Title VII that would allow religious affiliation (and [italics]) also whether the employee's (conduct [it.]) is consistent with the employer's beliefs. In other words, Christian employers can refuse to hire Jews, Muslims and atheists, but Christian employers can also refuse to hire anyone they deem to be a "bad Christian."

This has immediate and serious anti-LGBTQ ramifications. Anti-gay employers have a long history of disingenuously arguing that they are not discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation, but only based on their "lifestyle choices." Telling religious employers they may deny employment based on an employee's conduct puts the federal government's stamp of approval on anti-LGBTQ bigotry, and opens the door to many other forms of discrimination, such as against single mothers/parents, and non-religious or religious minority applicants, etc. This is shameful and unacceptable. Religion should never be an excuse to deny employment based on immutable characteristics, and this rule would allow exactly that.

'But you, who do you say I am?, interrupted Jesus. It was then that Peter spoke the words that would prove fatal to the Master: "Thou art the Messiah, the son of the living God. Thou art he who is destined to liberate the people of Israel!" (Matt. 16:13-16) Jesus was startled by Peter's bold language. He commanded his disciples, who had heard Peter's confession, to tell this to no one. But the effect on Jesus was tremendous. For he suddenly saw himself in this new light. Peter's confession seems to have transformed Jesus' perception of his own mission.

When Peter had made his impetuous declaration, the band was already on the road to Jerusalem. They were, however, no longer a handful of just twelve disciples, for a few hundred men had by now attached themselves to the party. These were patriots, fishermen, and Zealots -- the feared Sicarii who hated the ruling tyrants abd who knew how to wield a knife or sword when needed.'

I believe in fairness. Hope these religious organizations doesn't start discriminating against the homosexuals. That they should not use any exemption to not hire them for their sexual preferences. But if the homosexuals dresses or act inappropriately during work hours. That they can fire them. People of religions has a strong belief system. But they should not let it get in the way of helping others.
Like in the Bible. The Samaritans were Hated by the Jews. Because they didn't practiced the laws. That they were considered as unclean. Like in the story of the Good Samaritan. The Jewish's elites that has kept the commands, that they will not touch or help a fellow Jew that they thought that he was dead, because the laws says not to touch a dead corpse. But a Samaritan, that didn't care about the laws. Has acted neighborly to the dying Jew.
So God is telling us to do not let our strong belief get in the way of helping others. But He is also saying that don't let them use us as a door mat. To be wise as these serpents, but handle matters gently as a dove.

Luke 10:30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. 32 So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’

Matthew 5:20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

The moral problematics of a religion can be masked when reinforced by such a labor and hiring rule. A strong religious belief system is dangerously akin to Stupidity, which will always get precisely the reality it deserves. The capitalist employer, who always already owns the means of production, is given here a boost up on the pedestal of fascism by the Department of Labor. The Department knows that necessary labor and surplus labor are the two keys to why socialism is impossible, and this rule sets a precedent of religion's hidden intent, not even the CIA can absolutely determine for certain if the employer is lying about reasons for not hiring. It's 666 in your face with Chicago grills. A more rigorous expounding on the question (and pathology) of the Good Samaritan is in order.

Another way a free country works is not to allow religion to theocratize the country. There are quite enough phallic spires jonesing to pierce the sky. There are no mosques in Idaho.
