LA sees heavy oil

Calling it a "day that we have all been fearing," Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said on Wednesday that heavy oil -- not simply tar balls or sheen -- had entered the state's prized wetlands.
"It's already here but we know more is coming," he said.
The marshes are the nurseries for shrimp, oysters, crabs and fish that make Louisiana the leading producer of commercial seafood in the continental United States. A large no-fishing zone in Gulf waters seen as affected by the spill has been imposed.

Woohoo!!! Disaster is finally here after weeks of hoping and praying for it. Y'all must be so relieved........

(Zandernews) 5/20/2010 New Orleans
Oil has reached the shores of LA and many environmental activists are celebrating. Yes, they are actually happy. Joe Lovebird, an environmental activist who is wearing hemp clothing and a pair of Birkenstocks with white socks and shorts said, "It's about time something like this happened!! We have been praying to GAIA that the oil causes an ecological disaster. We need to stop all drilling for oil everywhere. We can use wind power (farts and burps) to power everything we need."

Sadly, he and others like him are hoping for a massive disaster for purely political gain. "I have been hoping something like this happened for years" said Mr Lovebird, "Big Oil is raping our planet man. This will stop it all. We're gonna win now." Mr Lovebird was taken away in restraints shortly afterward, but the sentiment is rampant amongst environmental weirdos.

 Zander Newzzzzzzz ?

Cheerios, hmmmm, never thought of that. We plan on using it for salad dressing if it gets to our shore. Nothing better than light, sweet crude and lemon basil vinegar on fresh tomatoes.

SpidermanTuba will be thrilled.

Now we can have a thread Titles "Oil kills Gnats"

And Another: "Oil Kills Mosquitos!!!"

And Another: "Oil Kills Water Mocassins!!!"

Etc, Etc, Etc.....until finally....

"Oil Kills USMB Membership"

Ah yes, let us make light of the worst environmental disaster in our nations history. What is the next step, Samson? Blaming those in the Gulf states that make their living supplying us with the seafood from there for putting the fish and shellfish in the path of the oil?

Clearly... just as Bush is blamed for 9/11 after 8 months in office... Obamie can be blamed for this... 18 months after being President.

Obama's oil spill.

I've made plenty of posts that were more serious regarding this issue.

I didn't feel it needed repeating again, but if that will keep you happy:

The "Blame" rests squarely upon the The DOI whose mission is:

The U.S. Department of the Interior protects America’s natural resources and heritage, honors our cultures and tribal communities, and supplies the energy to power our future.

The administration of DOI has been the responsibility of an Obama appointee for the past 15 months Ken Salazar, who should have cleaned up its structure and bad practices a year ago, but is now Monday Morning Quarterbacking:

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar today (May 19, 2010) signed a Secretarial Order that will lead to the fundamental restructuring of the Minerals Management Service and the division of its three conflicting missions into separate entities with independent missions

Ken didn't know shit about offshore drilling. He was a Senator from Colorado (which has no coastline, and, in fact, doesn't even border a state with a coastline).

So, we have Obama, who doesn't know shit about being president, appointing Salazar, who doesn't know shit about a shoreline, to "protect America's resources." Apparently, neither of these guys considered the Gulf Coast a resource.

Maybe in 2012 we'll get lucky and elect an administration that knows what the fuck they're doing.
