That's just ESPN, NFL propaganda. L.A. is mostly Illegal Alien and they like Soccer (Futbol). The people who sit behind desks in the NFL look at cities with large populations and expect their 7-11 franchise, excuse me NFL Franchise, to be in each one.

L.A. HAD two NFL teams and they both left. Most famously was Al Davis and his thug Raiders. Al already had a sweet deal to play in L.A. but he wanted even more so the elected leaders there told Al that he could go f*ck himself (and rightly so).

Jacksonville has a football team, would you call it a "Major League City"? No.
