Kung Fu

Bruce Lee got screwed out of that role.

He sure did.
Bruce Lee did not have a powerful Father in Hollywood Politics like David had. :)
John Carradine & David's half brother was on some of the episodes.

If Bruce had gotten the role, the show would have been short lived though.
That show would have been great with him in it, even if it had been for only one year.
Kung Fu ran from 72 to 75. Bruce died in 73.

I loved the show and thought it was great.

Bruce wasn't right for the role. They needed someone that looked half chinese/ american not full chinese, and that an american audience would identify with well. Bruce's martial skills would have been so far out of the league of other actors, but worst of all, Bruce had an inner conflict and intensity-fierceness that was not a good fit to the very peaceful serene and calm person the show wished to convey. As much as I would have loved to have seen Bruce in the show, David was the ideal man for the job and like you say, Bruce died a year after the show started.

Maybe, he wouldn't have died if he had been in this series.

Although, even with the prospect of Lee, it is hard to imagine it without David Carradine.

Also, if one paid attention to the story lines, they always contained just a tinge of liberal propaganda.
