And I'm kind of wondering why it is that you think it's cool that the rich of ANY country would flee their nation when their nation asks them to pay their fair share...

The top marginal rate was 92% during WWII, and it was 70% all the way up until 1980. True, very few people actually paid that much, there were deductions and shelters and loopholes.

So you admit few actually paid that much (aka our government didn't get it) yet you hold that up as proof of a boom?

How is it ever fair to earn money legally and yet have to give 75 cents of every dollar you earn to the government?

No, insane is that I'm paying about 25% of my income on taxes and Mitt Romney is paying only 15%. That's fucking insane...

You see, the problem with you supply siders is that you've created your own problem here. You've cut taxes while increasing spending, which means you've made government MORE popular, not less.

Look at everything you get and you don't have to pay for it!

If we kept taxes high, a lot of government spending would have been scrutinized...

Vive la France- go visit! And remember, they're busy in Paris, and they've been the #1 tourist city for 500-1000 years, so the waiters etc may have some quiet fun at your expense if you're an ugly 'Merican Pub dupe and have a chip on your shoulder....check les provinces-sorry about them being RIGHT all the time.

Did you know more French civilians were killed than American soldiers in 1944? France is the OTHER great Republic, and we can learn a lot from them- like avoid jingoist RWers in foreign policy. Pubs ran us into the stupidest war EVER- they're chickenhawk, arrogant fools...
