I'm the first person to bash the Koch brothers for their influence on our government. Their policies are anti middle class. But heres one issue they are fighting I can get behind. Prison reform. We have way too many non violent prisoners costing us way too much money.
I say if you sell drugs you pay $50k or go to prison. Put them on a teacher. Probation. Anyone knows it sucks being on probation. A drunk driving costs you $20k. That gets most of us to stop. Putting someone in prison isnt the answer for a lot of criminals. Doesnt work and too expensive. Or instead of 10 years maybe cut it to 5 then fine the person $10k and watch them closely.
Oh yea. They also want to remove the question on job applications asking if you've ever been convicted of a crime. Why ask if the person served their time? Maybe I'd want to know if they were a pedophile if I ran a daycare but not a factory job.
