In looking at this issue, at any law that the Republic of Poland applies domestically, it is their decision and their right. UNLESS the Republic of Poland takes some action that directly impacts the safety of another nation's citizenry → or → injures that citizenry → or → compromise the territorial integrity and sovereignty of some other nation THEN that becomes the decision of the Polish People.

Where were Jews also to criticize that limitation of freedom of speech?

Just as the State and People of Israel want to hold, exercise and protect their "right of self-determination," so it is the that the People of the Republic of Poland want to maintain control of their destiny (self-determination) as well.

The People of Israel should remember that they have no moral, legal or ethical authority to intervene in matters which are essentially within the domestic jurisdiction of the People of the Republic of Poland.

When the State and People of Israel discuss the enforcement and application of these kinds of "rights" --- the State and People of Israel must be will to have the decision applied to Israel by others in the exact same way.

The question of "self-determination" is the center and at the forefront of the issue. And advocacy and persuasion are the tools. Israel must apply them for the right reason, at the right time, to accomplish the objective. The Knesset should not become involved in the internal affairs of Poland; even if the People of the Republic want to rewrite the entire history of WWII, erase the Holocaust, and distort the facts entirely. What is important is that the People of the State of Israel maintain the higher ground, the rights and principles of self-determination and the destiny of the Jewish State.

This has been an ongoing issue with not only Israel proper but Jewish groups within nations. Think about how many nations where it is a felony to publicly deny the holocaust. The rabid desire to control all aspects of the narrative is a bit much.
