Weeks after France and US oust Ivorian president Laurent Gbagbo, who during his tenure opposed unfair decades deal between Ivory Coast and France, the killing, torture and rape of non-Ouattara supporters is at all time high. During the four months stand-off between Gbagbo and Ouattara, these barbaric acts were attributed to supporters of Gbagbo by the UN and other international mediums (including the so-called human rights watch which now finds itself confounded), though most of these acts were in towns heavily supporting Gbagbo - allAfrica.com: Cote d'Ivoire: Gbagbo Supporters Tortured, Killed in Abidjan (Page 1 of 6)

Since the capture of Laurent Gbagbo in early April 2011 and unconstitutional installment of Alassane Ouattara, the bodies of Gbagbo supporters are turning up everywhere, while several are being tortured, raped and imprisoned (including the 80+ mother of Laurent Gbagbo). The Plain Truth is about the situation in Ivory Coast is:

Northern Ivorians, mostly Muslims and immigrants from Burkina Faso, dislike native Ivorians for having Southern resourceful portion of Ivory Coast and would not mind helping outsiders destroy or take away from rightful natives! Immigration difficulties and envy are what propel Alassane Ouattara and his troop! And because Ouattara is not purebred Ivorian as mandated by Ivorian law for presidency, the first thing Ouattara did upon entering Ivorian presidency was let his fellow nationals into Ivory Coast - Ouattara invites Burkinabes back to Ivory Coast - Yahoo! News

And while Northern Ivorians have access to banking and other resources, banks have shutdown and resources are constantly being destroyed to anguish Southern Ivorians who refuse to accept Ouattara as president. And this, folks, is the democracy the US, France and Britain boast of spreading around the world: Do as we say, or else you are dead!

Baruch, if "guy" refers to Laurent Gbagbo, then be informed that Alassane Ouattara did not win the 2010 presidential election of Ivory Coast and does not qualify under Ivorian law to be president of Ivory Coast:

The Ivorian presidential election was disputed and the dispute went to the Supreme Court of Ivory Coast where Supreme Court ruled in favor of Laurent Gbagbo. And this, people, besides other issues, was why Laurent Gbagbo refused to step down! The Supreme Court of Ivory Coast declared Laurent Gbagbo winner of the 2010 presidential election.

During the time the country was split, the north was better run, fed, policed. Gbagbo overstayed his welcome by 10 years and lost three elections. By any measure, the folks of Ivory coast are better with him gone.

I hope things get better there soon. Under Gbagbo getting worse was not an option

While I may or may not have liked Gbagbo, a fact remains that Ouattara is simply a Western puppet and is not qualified by Ivorian law to be president of Ivory Coast. And the only thing that will get better in Ivory Coast will be easy plundering by France and its allies.

Ivory Coast, Libya and Africa would be okay if only our sadistic imperialists would leave Africa alone! These imperialists who dream of Neo-colonialism in Africa and have no regards for Africans have to be kept out of Africa! Contrary to popular belief, Africa does not bask in memories of colonial days.

What? both Iran and Iraq have oil so of course the US is interested, what does the Ivory Coast have to offer? they have oil wells we don't know about?

High_Gravity, I did not expect you to ask the above question. Here attached is started link for you - https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/iv.html
