Killer Whale defeats Great White Shark 1-on-1

Sharks breath through their gills.

The Killer Whale held it underwater upside down for 15 minutes.

yup... and most sharks need to keep moving so water passes through the gills. If the orca holds it in place, it drowns.

Then how do sharks keep from drowning in their sleep or at rest? Or do they sleep or rest?

Most sharks, not all. I believe the nurse shark can stop.

Saw on a shark show that they do sleep and rest.

It showed several of them resting/asleep laying on the bottom sand between some rocks.

There were facing towards a slow moving current between the rocks so that the water passed thru their gills.
