(Move over Neville Chamberlain, theres another world class appeaser in the making, and you're going to look real good, historically, in comparison. What was Ronnie Reagan's admonition "You never negotiate with terrorists." Obama and the Democrats are complete @assholes if they go through with this.)

"Pathetic.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. intelligence officials acknowledged Tuesday that the United States may release several Afghan Taliban prisoners from the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as an incentive to bring the Taliban to peace talks.

Director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper told Congress Tuesday that no decision had been made on whether to trade the five Taliban prisoners, now held at Guantanamo Bay as part of nascent peace talks with the Taliban. He and CIA Director David Petraeus did not dispute that the Obama administration is considering transferring the five to a third country.

U.S. officials and others had previously spoken only vaguely, and usually anonymously, about the proposal to send the prisoners to Qatar, a Persian Gulf country that has asserted a central role in framing talks that might end the 10-year war in Afghanistan. The lead U.S. negotiator trying to coax the Taliban into talks had also publicly acknowledged the possibility of a release, but said there was no final decision"

Time to kiss and makeup with the Taliban. All that blood & treasure spent. And for what? To now turn a vast portion of Afghanistan over to the Taliban? That's not gonna help us or the People of Afghanistan in the long-run. Expect lots & lots of Blowback on this one. What a bizarre Foreign Policy. It's very sad.

i don't see KSM being released...but still....high-ranking dangerous prisoners in return for a Taliban "statement".....? the Obama bizarre foreign policy....:cuckoo:

"The whole idea that they're going to ‘transfer' these detainees in exchange for a statement by the Taliban? It is really, really bizarre," McCain said. "This whole thing is highly questionable because the Taliban know we are leaving. I know many experts who would say they are rope-a-doping us."

I am sure the Taliban will respect the USA after the exchange. :eusa_whistle:

Just how stupid can one administration get?

No where in your article does it mention KSM

He is not even Taliban

Well, we know what side Obama's on.. shit.. he's a personal friend of Rashid Khalidi... a rabid racist and anti-Semite.

Counting the days until he is removed from office. Talk about the fool on the hill, apparently he has no firm grasp of history nor the concept of repeating itself unless lessons are learned. Nothing seems to phase me about that man and the people he has surrounded himself with.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is not a Taliban, the guy is a Kuwaiti of Pakistani descent, he is not going anywhere. However giving up any Taliban at this juncture is just stupid, all they will do is have a party, get debriefed and go rejoin their brothers on the battlefield shooting at US Troops.

interesting thread title considering it had nothing to do with the content of ts post

Where is Khaleid Sheik Mohammed mentioned?

He's not even Taliban.

President Obama has killed more Taliban and al-Qaeda than any other president and if you cotinue to read -

"We're not releasing them. As I understand it they will be imprisoned in Qatar," Levin continued. But can the Qataris be trusted to keep them behind bars? "That's the question," Levin said.

Read the rest. There's a lot more to this.

Or, just whine about President Obama and ignore what the links really said.

You really expect to get all the details from George Bush???

Hell To Pay

"Some time just before January 7th, 2002, an asteroid capable of pulverizing a good-sized nation flashed through the void, passing perilously close to Earth. Had it struck our planet, the impact would have had global consequences. The energy of the strike would have been equivalent to the explosion of a number of large atomic weapons. From the media perspective, it would have been the biggest story since the extinction of the dinosaurs.

At some point in the next six months, a small, darkened corner of George W. Bush's consciousness will wish the thing had hit us.

It is one thing to coddle and court a corrupt energy company for political and financial gain. It is quite another to coddle and court a murderous terrorist-supporting regime, hindering anti-terrorism investigations in the process, for the purpose of exploiting valuable natural resources. The former cost a number of people their retirement funds. The latter has cost thousands of people their lives. One is criminal. The other is abominable. George W. Bush is deeply implicated in both. There will be hell to pay."

The world hasn't seen a rush to the exits such as the one Obama is demonstrating, re Iraq and Afghanistan, since the Coconut Grove Nightclub fire in Boston, 1942.

You call ten years, 6000 dead and trillions of dollars a rush to the exit?

... but you can sell them weapons, as he did to the Nicaraguan Contras, despite their being dominated by National Gaurd figures of the former dictatorial regime, who terrorized the people for decades.

You wanted to cut-n-run!!! :dunno:

If you all can remember back that far, Adolph, a kindred sufferer from Narcissistic Personality Disorder like Obama, decided that if Germany could not, would not fight hard enough to generate victory against the Allies for him, they would have nothing to rebuild with or on after the war was over and ordered the Wehrmacht to puruse a scorched earth policy in its retreats. "Destroy everything behind you ! Leave nothing standing!'
If Obama be defeated this November, especially by a large vote total, what would there be to stop him for pardonning all the inmates at Gitmo, including Khaleid Sheiek Mohammed to assuage the pain his injured vanity would be feeling?"Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned!" Toss in the sufferers of Narcissistic Personality Disorder as well, the finger wagging contest on the tarmac with Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, case in point.

Nothing would be able to stop him, except that he's not a nutjob and you are for suggesting he might.
