Keystone Pipeline Benefits?

Look you bloody left wing hypocrites why don't you go after Buffet for making a killing because Obama has been delaying the pipeline.

You keep bitching that you don't think the pipeline should be carrying the crude yet there's Buffet making a fortune because the fucking Democrats and that bastard in the White House is blocking the pipeline so they can reap donations from Buffet and Steyer.

Actually, that's not really true, from what I have read about the hauling by trains. Most of our oil in North Dakota, Montana etc region or where Keystone xl supposedly will allow those there to transport oil to the gulf are not interested in getting their oil to the gulf....they play it by ear and whatever region that gives them the best price, is where they ship it to....

So right now, they are sending oil to the east and west coast, where they get the most for their oil and they do so primarily by train, at the last minute, not knowing if it is going east or west, until they choose who gives them the highest price....they could haul it south to Texas, but Texas is not the place that gives them the most for their oil, so they don't send all that way...

Those trains are what gets them to the west or east coast refinery with the best price...

But let me say, I am NOT that crazy about those trains carrying this oil across country to the east or west coast refineries with the rail cars they are using now, which are not SAFE.

Oil from N.D. or Montana does not fall under the guidelines of free trade zones, and do not enjoy the free trade tax exemptions that bitumen from Canada does. Any products from the Canadian feed stock sold in the U.S. doesn't meet the guidelines either. It has to come from out of the country and refined products be sold out of the country before that particular profit advantage is applicable.

I can try to find it....it started with Vigilante posting one of his pics/videos that was about Railroads and oil rail cars being unsafe..and then I watched that video which lead to other articles on "oil cars" on trains, and passing through residential neighborhoods without the neighborhoods even knowing the danger....and the Lord only knows how I got to the article about why they use trains in the first place vs not wanting to use the pipeline south.............I will give it my best try to find it, but no guarantees....

I'm not a fan of rail because of the rail lines going thru densely populated areas.

Plus it costs more to move crude by rail which as we all know those costs filter down to the consumer.

And to boot you get higher greenhouse gas emissions. Blocking the Keystone XL is all bullshit. The XL is the poster child for these enviro whackos to claim that if the XL is built Canada will wreck the planet drilling for heavy crude.

But hey. The environmentalists beating their scary global warming drum have raised mega bucks doing so over the XL and Democrats have made out quite well with green donors like Steyer.

AND last but not least that old big D donor Warren Buffet has made a killing with his rail line. Check out the stats on the increase in rail while the XL gets sidelined.

10,000 to 400,000 carloads. 40 times increase. Oh Warren is just swimming in money thanks to the White House.

"Rail has traditionally been a secondary crude-transportation mode because it costs two to three times as much as pipelines. In 2009, 10,000 carloads of crude oil were carried on Class I railroads. By 2013, this traffic had grown to 400,000 carloads—a 40-fold increase.

This explosive growth has resulted in rail congestion and service delays, which often impact transportation of grain and other commodities.

It has also led to an increase in rail accidents. The incident at Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, which left 47 dead, is the most notable such accident. There have also been tank-car failures, spills and derailments".

If you can find that link I'd like to read it too. Because it's way off the mark.

The producers in the Bakken that I know of were already promised that the XL could carry maximum of 12%.

That's all the pipeline would be able to carry so that's not what I would call a huge amount.

Plus rail is two to three times more expensive than shipping by pipeline right from the get go.

That's standard pricing. And the bulk of rail carrying Bakken crude via CP rail for example is all heading to the Gulf.

Via rail to the Gulf costs more but the rail companies are hauling Bakken crude to the Gulf like crazy.

Here's the outlook from CP rail.

CP sees rising demand to move Bakken crude by rail

Railway may eventually carry 45.5 mln barrels per year

Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd expects demand to ship oil by rail from the prolific Bakken field to continue to rise, with most of the crude destined for Gulf of Mexico refineries, the railway's executives said on Tuesday.

The company, whose lines run through the Bakken field in North Dakota and southern Saskatchewan, says crude-by-rail demand is now at about 13,000 carloads per year, or 8.5 million barrels. In June, CP said demand, on an annualized basis, was about 8,000 carloads, or 5.2 million barrels.

Fred Green, chief executive of Canada's No. 2 railway, said in an interview the line could eventually ship 70,000 carloads, or 45.5 million barrels, annually from Bakken.

"We think that's probably a little conservative, but that's where we'll stick for now," Green said.

Production from the multibillion-barrel Bakken field is rising rapidly as producers tap the once uneconomic reserves using horizontal drilling and fracturing techniques.

In North Dakota alone, production in August rose to 440,000 barrels, up 19,000 from the prior month, according to state data.

Because of its rapid growth, the region is underserved by pipelines and producers have relied on railways to ship their crude to market.

Shipping by rail also gives producers the flexibility to send their crude to refineries on the Gulf of Mexico and avoid the U.S. Midwest, where oil prices are $20 a barrel or more under what Gulf refiners will pay."

From my understanding is that the keystone pipeline is solely about helping Canada get to the gulf and ship oil out the US and has nothing to do with: 1. Getting the US more oil (like many like myself were led to believe) and 2. Not about producing and sending any of our oil anywhere.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but other than the over inflated (yes the right lies about the number of jobs that are created, just like the left does) temporary jobs, what is the big benefit to the US that we continue fight back and forth over.

If it truly was about getting more Canadian oil to the stated, then I am for it. It should more forward, but if it's solely about getting Canadian oil to the gulf, then I have no idea why (other then generous kickbacks), whey the Republicans are pushing for this so hard!

Thousands of miles of pipelines, rail lines, highways and refineries exist all across America. And eminent domain no doubt has been used to build these crucial structures.

What's your point?

Remember when Obama promised to focus like a laser on jobs, what's the problem here with getting this approved and getting American's back to work?

Look you bloody left wing hypocrites why don't you go after Buffet for making a killing because Obama has been delaying the pipeline.

You keep bitching that you don't think the pipeline should be carrying the crude yet there's Buffet making a fortune because the fucking Democrats and that bastard in the White House is blocking the pipeline so they can reap donations from Buffet and Steyer.

Assholes. Hypocritical assholes all the way. The Dems are getting paid to block the pipeline. No way around it.

Buffett’s Burlington Northern Among Pipeline Winners

Warren Buffett’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe LLC is among U.S. and Canadian railroads that stand to benefit from the Obama administration’s decision to reject TransCanada Corp. (TRP)’s Keystone XL oil pipeline permit.

Most of our oil in North Dakota, Montana etc region or where Keystone xl supposedly will allow those there to transport oil to the gulf are not interested in getting their oil to the gulf...

They're not interested in the price savings a pipeline would give them?
nope, they are not that interested in it because the Pipeline requires them to commit to a huge amount being transported through it upfront and these oil companies want to be able to ship to the place that will pay them the most for their oil and are not willing to commit to shipping huge amounts of their oil to the gulf via a contract with the pipeline, through the pipeline because it does not give them the best price....is what read....

You have a link to any of the stuff you read?
I can try to find it....it started with Vigilante posting one of his pics/videos that was about Railroads and oil rail cars being unsafe..and then I watched that video which lead to other articles on "oil cars" on trains, and passing through residential neighborhoods without the neighborhoods even knowing the danger....and the Lord only knows how I got to the article about why they use trains in the first place vs not wanting to use the pipeline south.............I will give it my best try to find it, but no guarantees....

Thanks. I remember seeing something about how expensive trucking the oil is and there would be no way trucking is going to compete with the pipeline. They would never prefer trucking it.
I'll look for more details too.

I still believe we should be promoting the general welfare with any public policies, and that form of public use of the Peoples' resources.

Why are we not getting state-of-the-art general infrastructure as well in order to better promote the general welfare?

Underground, mag-lev capable "conduits to markets" provided by the public sector ostensibly to ensure a republican form of Government, even in modern times, could enable us to preserve green space while ensuring greater availability and potential cost savings due to natural disasters such as weather.

And, not Only that, but also conduits for potable and waste water management, (including industrial waste management), and other capital goods that may benefit from timelier mass transit, times to market.
