The kids weren't mandated to go on the trip and needed parent's permission to go.

400 kids went. I'm fairly sure the parents were not given all the information. And after the first boondoggle, Jennings apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. And it did.

I had no idea Planned Parenthood was so kinky. They need to stay out of the classroom and concentrate on what they do best - abortion.

As I recall, there was a great deal of information given to the parents, who specifically had to sign a permission slip, the 400 is the total number of attendees, which included many teachers (it was called a "teach out")
- PLUS - the conference was ON A SATURDAY.

Then I went to the GLSEN booksite referenced in the article:

I didn't really study it that well, but a quick look and I couldn't find any of the books mentioned, even though there has to be 200 books listed.
Would you please go though the list and verify that those books are really availible from GLSEN.

Like I said, I posted the link to GLSEN and couldn't find any of the books you listed. Of course, I didn't go through every one so I could be wrong. Could you please provide the link on GLSEN that shows two men having anal sex in front of two boy scouts. Without posting those links, the you made charges look like slanderous lies and could even be "false witness" which of course, is a mortal sin. While I don't believe you would be so low, I would just like to see the evidence. Thanks.

I went to GLSEN (link listed above) and reviewed a few more books. I still couldn't find the ones listed in your linked article.

You suggested that Kevin Jennings is Promoting Porn in the Classroom and your article showed two Boy Scouts watching as one man was bent over and a second man appeared to be giving it to him from behind. I couldn't find any reference to this on GLSEN. Please add a link. Otherwise, people may think this is just a slanderous smear. We don't want that. If it got out that Republicans indulged in lies and smears, members of the party may stop believing the right wing altogether. It's very important that if the Republican party makes such an accusation, it's, pardon the word, "backed up" by facts.

I didn't really study the GLSEN (link listed above) site, but it seemed to be mostly about the ways to stop bullies from harassing gay children. Nobody likes harassment and we all know those on the right don't approve of that, even if it is against those hated gays. Like I said, they listed hundreds of books. Could you verify the ones you listed were actually available on the GLSEN site and they said the things you said they said? It would be much appreciated.
They should never show two adult men having anal sex to children like you suggested. You did suggest that right?

rdean - I'll look for the link. In the interim, here's an update. According to this teacher, Jennings was well aware of the content at the seminar:

MT: This whole conference was his dream and his mindset. This was his vision from the very beginning.

MT: Obviously, this is material that he abvocates. Even today if you read the text of some of the books that they put out.

You are right. I would never intentionally lie. I save that for the politicians. But I also am not a professional fact checker and maintain the right to opine on articles I find interesting. Fair enough?
