Leave it up to a true Rino to defend Obama and slam 65% of Republican voters in South Carolin who don't believe Obama is eligible for Article 2 Section 1. The way I see it, that is a lot of folks and for Rove to do this will make them feel like they don't have a voice. It's the equivalent when Barach Obama said that Republicans in the mid western rural areas were clinging to their guns and bibles back in the 08 election. The Obama eligibility question has started up again because Rick Perry came out after a meeting with Trump and stated he didn't know if Obama's released long form abstract birth certificate was real. He wouldn't confirm he believed Obama was eligible. This is sending liberals and Rino's into a tizzy.

Public Policy Polling: 65% of South Carolina Republicans Doubt Obama is Eligible to be President of the United States

Growing numbers of Republicans in the early-voting state of South Carolina do not believe that U.S. President Barack Obama is an American citizen.

According to a new Public Policy Polling survey – released on Tuesday – 44 percent of likely Republican voters do not believe that Obama was born in the United States. Meanwhile, 35 percent believe Obama is a U.S. citizen while 21 percent are not sure.

Two months ago, those numbers were virtually reversed – with 42 percent of GOP voters saying Obama was a citizen and 35 percent saying he wasn’t.

Why the sudden spike in “birther” activity? We’ve honestly got no clue..

Obama has released his long-form birth certificate and the then GOP registrar for the sate of Hawaii confirmed his birth was on record in 2008. Why does the birther thing keep coming up?

It took Obama much too long to play the game and not release a BC. There had to be a reason. Citizen or not, real name or not, we shouldn't have to take anyone's word for something that could be so easily proven. Why in the hell did he let it become an issue for such a long time...

It comes down to a matter of trust. Just how many things have come up that he's been untruthful about? How many times has he put this entire country down to foreign leaders and segments of the population here favoring another?

This man was NOT ready and still isn't. He has a record to run on. That should be enough for most citizens just say, "NEXT..."

This time let's get someone who knows about the economy, foreign affairs and can get the right people to work with.

And if I end another sentence with a preposition, I will slap myself.

Rove is a lot of things but he’s not stupid. He knows this birther idiocy is going to contribute to Obama’s reelection.

Why in the hell did he let it become an issue for such a long time...

It should have never been an issue to begin with.

It comes down to a matter of trust.

Actually it comes down to a matter of partisan politics and a GOP unhappy with the elections results.

Obama has released his long-form birth certificate and the then GOP registrar for the sate of Hawaii confirmed his birth was on record in 2008. Why does the birther thing keep coming up?

Why has it not gone away? For one he released it after 3 years of putting it off when he could have done it right off the bat. Then when Trump put pressure on him, he released a abstract computer long form, not the original 50 year old document with a raised seal. When he released the abstract on April 27th, many computer experts in the field of scanning and graphics discovered that it was a created document with many mistakes. The experts were CEO's of Computer graphics and scanning companies as well as Teachers in the field. Many have sworn affidavits willing to testify to their findings. This prompted Michelle Bachmann and Herman Cain to want a attestation done to the document from a independent non partisan group who specializes in document verification. It doesn't matter if the GOP registrar confirmed his birth was on record. It's the legitimacy of that record. All of the sudden after meetings with Trump, Cain and Perry doubt Obama's certificate and citizenship. The Hawaii governor stated on record that this would hurt Obama in the election if it wasn't put to rest. It's obvious with 65% of South Carolina voters and other voters across the nation in the tens of millions that Obama isn't a natural born Citizen.

He sees the Repubs are in a mess continuing with this wacky worn out issue (in the case of Perry), and being grossly unprepared (in the case of Cain). You don't get it that he's trying to help you. But it's OK with me if you don't see it.

Why do you think wanting to uphold Article 2 Section 1 is wacky?

I agree with Karl Rove, the birthers are a very very small minority of voters, to align yourself with them is suicidal. I agree that Obama should have had it released right away, for some reason he didn't. Maybe, he was looking for an issue to hang the birthers with. But for Perry to in any way align himself with them is a death wish. It's the "economy stupid." stay on it like a wet blanket, that's the way to get votes.

It's not a death wish.Trump rose to the top of the polls when he raised the issue and caused the media and Obama to go into a panic. The numbers verify that Trump did indeed lead at the time. This is a serious issue with Obama and it needs to be addressed before the election.

It sounds like growing numbers of South Carolinians are fucking clueless.

Granted, we already knew that.

No, it seems as though they want Article 2 Section 1 upheld, I find that patriotic. Don't you?

It's very selective patriotism.
