Karl Marx Did Not Invent Socialism

History of socialism - Wikipedia

It was invented during the French Revolution of 1789.
The system of economics used in the Soviet Union was socialism, not Communism.
USSR stands for "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics."

Communist is the name of a political party.
Marx provided a fully developed theoretical basis for moving mankind from one social relationship of development to a different, some might say, more enlightened social relationship of development. It's over 130 years since he passed and his ideas are still relevant.

lol Marx was just a pseudo-intellectual poseur who was going to distinguish himself from the rest of the salon poseurs by positioning himself as 'the Anti-Hegel' and invent a counter -'historical evolution' to Hegel's positivist outlook. He never could get the math to work out, Engels ended up having to fake that in Vol. II. He publishes nothing to do with his economic theories after Vol. I or after 1870, basically just runs around promoting himself, as does Engels. Menger publishes his theories in 1871. Other noteworthy economists publish in the same years and Economics as a philosophy moves on from Marx's hokery and hot air.

Actually "communism" as a practice is an economic system. Matter of fact your own post above notes this, and then promptly contradicts it.

And as such it's been used here and there for centuries, notably by Christian groups following the Book of Acts, and by intentional Utopian societies.

Christian Communism
You're not playing with a full deck, yoyo.

No, communism was a Jesuit idea of the catholic cult and put into practice in South America (namely Paraguay in 1607). Karl Marx had a Jesuit mentor as well as Friedrich Engles...as usual, you are far off of the mark.

Ummm...... no Blinky. The Hutterites were doing it before then in Tyrol. And they're still doing it today. And they're not even Catholic. And that's just my personal experience example; see my link. That's why the fuck I put it there.

Go back to your playpen and jiggle your rattle, jackass.

There were so many types of socialism that Marx named his socialism, Scientific Socialism. Communism is the name of an economic-political system, that Karl Marx created. Scientific Socialism was the period to teach how to enter and create a communist system. Russia dropped the Scientific Socialism first and later dropped communism. No nation practices Marx's communism today. Many practice some socialism as does the USA. and the USA has practiced it since it became a nation, and probably before.

Wrong, wrong....WRONG! communism wasn't a Karl Marx creation...not by a long shot.......dig deeper.
That's what I said. YOU CAN"T READ

Of course the bourgeois economists make every attempt to discredit Marx, his theory poses a threat to the capitalist system of production. 130 years later and you are still trying. I'd say Marx was on to something, lol.

Marx and Engels had no reason to pay any mind to the subjective theory of Menger or any of the other marginalists. They had already objectively shown the true nature of value!

The fashionable theory just now here is that of Stanley Jevons according to which value is determined by utility, i.e. Tauschwert-Gebrauchswert and on the other hand by the limit of supply (i.e. the cost of production), which is merely a confused and circuitous way of saying that value is determined by supply and demand. Vulgar Economy everywhere!

Rubbish. Obviously you Google Scholared and found everything I said was true, and like Engels, hope that further babbling will deflect from reality. Marx was still struggling to learn enough math to be able to even understand what Menger, a noteworthy mathematician of considerable skill, was talking about, much less actually refute anything he and several others came out with, as late as 1883.

lol that's just silly. Some adopted a communal lifestyle with other Christians. You don't have any idea what socialism means, and even less of an idea about Christianity, early or modern.

The reality had already been objectively identified. The subjective nature of Menger' s theory and your opinions carry no weight. If Marx had been discredited you wouldn't still be here attempting to discredit him.

It seems that a number of posters know little of the history of Marx's communism yet just the word "communism" seemed to scare Americans enough to create laws, committees and a whole period of McCarythism.

Rubbish. I didn't start the topic, and he has been thoroughly discredited for over a century now; just because you don't think so means nothing. Even Lenin rejected his theories and reverted to a mere military dictatorship. Mao never was a 'Marxist', just another sociopathic megalomaniac like all the rest of the 'Marxist' dictators, hiding behind rhetoric and pogroms.

I would say we know more than enough to reject it; two of the largest countries on the planet couldn't make it amount to anything despite having enormous resources and efficient organizations. Don't need to know all about stoves to not put your hand on a hot burner. It appeals to pseudo-intellectuals who think they deserve Big Important Government Jobs intimidating and ordering a bunch of deplorable proles around just because they read a few books on philosophy they never actually understood and think that makes them 'speshul'. It's kind of like a lot of 'libertarianism' in many ways, as you can just make up its implementations and interpretations as you go along in any way you choose to.

Lenin didn't reject Marx's theories outright. His NEP was an attempt to fulfill the preconditions for the development of a socialist society. Lenin thought he could hold society captive while they developed their productive capabilities. That was never a part of Marxist thought and it is that which led to the tragedy that transpired in the USSR.
