There's a neighborhood karaoke bar near my house that I really like to go to, and I'm there regularly, every Tuesday night. I get the best responses from things like Leann Rimes' version of "Unchained Melody", Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On", and Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You". This would be because I have a very operatic quality to my voice (although not nearly the power of an actual opera singer) and a higher range than most women have. It means I can't really do the fun, upbeat songs I'd sometimes like to do very effectively, but I kick ass at ballads, especially if they have a really dramatic ending.
With this in mind, I'm looking for suggestions for some new, awesomely impressive songs I can add to my repertoire. There's gotta be some other singers out there who would fit the bill. And no, it doesn't have to be a song by a female singer, so long as the words can be modified to fit. I can always change the key and octave.
