Yet Conservatives want to do what they did in Kansas for the rest of the country. Kansas cut taxes in 2012, then saw a $900M shortfall, a couple credit downgrades, economic growth below the national average, job growth below the national average, business creation below the national average, raised tuition costs, raised excise taxes, raised co-pays and out of pocket costs for Medicaid, raided the Highway Fund, raided the welfare block grant, and had to close schools early because they didn't have money to keep them open. And they still couldn't balance their budget.

Tax cuts caused this.

Actually falling energy and crop prices caused it.

You're gonna need to prove this. Crop and energy prices didn't fall for just Kansas, they fell for everyone, yet Kansas experienced slower GDP growth than all its neighbors who rely on the same resources Kansas does.

The same people who failed in Kansas are now crafting tax "reform" legislation for Trump. Why are Conservatives doing that if everyone already knows the results?

Like Harley said, there were multiple threads on it, links were provided, look them up

/----- Kansas needs to cut spending, Einstein.
Reckless spending caused Kansas budget crisis
Brownback’s tax cuts were supposed to be the start of a new, small-government approach to growing the economy. And yet lawmakers did little to slow the growth in state spending: The state’s all-funds budget has increased by well over $1 billion since 2013.

spending is always the problem. But nobody really gives a shit. They cant help it. They dont know how to wipe their ass.

The libertarian critique can be ignored because it does not the real world.

Crop and energy failure was not unique to Kansas, yet that state suffered badly.

Why?

/---- As stated earlier -- $1 billion in spending when they were supposed to cut spending.

thank you...the problem is never cutting taxes.....they increase tax revenue...the problem is always, always, politicians, especially democrat politicians spending and spending and then spending some more.....and then complaining that taxes are too low to support their spending....

We all know what liberal policies bring and we all know you lefties love to cherry pick data. The fact that you are here vomiting up old tired leftist terms of derision to try to make socialism look better says all we need to know.

They did cut spending...education in particular. Because of the cuts to education, the Kansas State University Board of Regents had to raise tuition.

And furthermore, why would any spending cuts have an effect on the affect of tax cuts?
/----- The students pick up more of the tuition thereby reducing the Gubmint costs. It's called pay your own way.
AND if you can't understand how reducing spending will balance out tax cuts there is nothing more I can do to help you understand.

If you spend more than even the tax cuts bring in.....then you still don't have enough money...this is what happened when Reagan cut taxes....revenue to the government almost doubled....the democrats spent double.....spending all the new money created by Reagan, and they kept spending.......

Spending is the problem, not tax cuts.

What data has been cherry-picked? If trickle-down worked, how come Republicans in Kansas voted to repeal it?

Cause they want to spend more money than they bring in...and are cowards when it comes to actually spending only what they have.
