And worse, after 9/11 Bush was the most popular president in US history. His downfall was his incompetence at things like not getting Bin Laden (which Obama did) and bringing down the economy (which Obama has been salvaging despite Republican obstructionism) and invading Iraq (from where Obama pulled the troops).
