Just how long does it take to live down your past?

Back in the day, Nikki Andersin was a name in the Porn industry.

But she decided the life wasn't really for her, so she joined the army, got a diploma from the GI Bill and went to work in the job she loved. She was, according to reports, very good at her job and got excellent performance reviews. (As she had in the Army and in the Porn industry)

However, her past as a porn star 15 years ago has got her fired twice from a job she was very good at. She was not accused of Doing anything wrong, it was just that school districts in KY and MO thought it was not appropriate that a porn star teach high school science.

I have to admit at first blush, I kind of feel she should look for other work. Even though she is very good at teaching science, and lord knows we need competent science teachers.

But the bigger question is just how long should it take before you live down your history. In my case it is a very painful question.

Nearly 30 teachers have been arrested for having sex with their students. Nikki was not one of them. The Japanese, Israelis, Koreans and Chinese are eating our lunch when it comes to science. We need qualified science teachers.

I think it is past time the dead past buried its dead and people became more adult.

The main issue is that recently the number of people who have to raise a stink about topics such as someone's past has dwindled down to near one. Years ago it took far more work to get someone fired over any issue, including thier past. Now companies or government agencies (especially in education) live in fear of the legal exposure they incur if they hire someone like this woman.

In reality, her past is a non issue. In the arena of public opinion, there is no way she can be a teacher. All it takes is one parent with a moral issue with her and the district probably sees firing her as the easier solution.

Any work in the Adult Film industry carries a stigma whether the person is male or female, prudes view the actors as sexual deviants and don't want them anywhere near their children which is ridiculous. I actually had a chance to perform in a adult film when I was in the service, a young female college student was going to record an amateur movie in her home and got the contracts drawn up for us, it was a minor scene and I almost did it, looking back I kind of regret not doing it but in the scheme of things maybe it was best.

Yes I also had the opportunity to work in the porn industry when my extremely revolting boss at a dive greasy spoon where I worked offered to take studio "pictures" of me in his home studio, lol.

I opted not to have these free, *classy* studio shots done. I'm sure it would have led to a lucrative and respectable career as a porn hoyden.

Not.

Anyway, I don't think a job in the porn industry (especially a woman) indicates, in this case, a propensity towards deviant behavior. She appears to have moved past it, I am supposing she has no criminal record or anything that would indicate she's a threat to kids (though perhaps the school board would need to review all her porn flicks to determine the deviance level? OMG!). Why she lists that particular career on her apps is beyond me...I think I would just put "housewife" on that portion of the app and call it good. I'm sure at least one character she's played has been a housewife.

They're our education gurus, what do you expect?

They protect the true predators, and scoriate anyone who doesn't follow their agenda.

She should seek work in New York.

Is New York a haven for former adult film stars? California might be a better place to start, alot of the women down there either did porn before or did spreads for Club, Hustler or Swank.

It's a haven for Weiner admirers.
So much is happening in New York City, all the time and almost everywhere, that New Yorkers become desensitized to things which are unusual but do not affect them in any direct way. They simply do not have enough room in their brains or time in their minds to think about everything they see and hear in their daily lives. There is just too much. So things like a crazy Jew Congressman who likes send pictures of his johnson to receptive adult women on the Internet is simply not a relevant issue to people whose minds are flooded with all sorts of stimulus in almost every waking minute of every day.

Things that will shock citizens of most smaller, more tranquil communities are not even noticed by the average New Yorker. They are just too busy trying to get across the street.

Who are these people that recognise her?

good lord, someone needs to remind these people that they will be judged as they judged others, when it really really counts.

I believe that people can change and I thought I believed in forgiveness, but I'm not sure if I would feel comfortable with a former porn star teaching my boys. I know they'd love it!

Why not? What exactly would you be apprehensive or resentful about? What affect do you believe having her as a science teacher would have on your sons?

(I am academically curious and would appreciate knowing your thoughts about this.)

Looking at her pic in the OP.

I don't think it would be that hard to learn science or anything from her, since she no longer has the image/looks of a porn star.

She's in her mid to late 30's. Granted teenage boys get wood at random moments, but it's still a long shot anyone has her as his fantacy chick.

You can't really screen teachers based on their ability to generate boners in adolescent males, lol.

Yup I agree, this isn't like some current porn star like Bree Olson or Nikki Nova coming out and wanting to teach children, this woman has been out of the game for a while.
