"Just get off our backs!!" seems to be the sentiment of more & more Americans at this point. Has the Government over-stepped? I mean every day we see politicians on TV ranting about how they're going to do this and do that. It seems you can't even go a minute without seeing some politician screeching about how important their new proposed Legislation is. Everything is a "Crisis" at this point. It seems if you just claim that everything is a "Crisis",you can then push your agendas through much quicker. The politicians really have overplayed that whole "Crisis" thing in my opinion.

Personally i believe that Congress should only meet a couple times a year. They just seem to be in session way too often. It's to the point where most Americans actually pray for them to just go away on Recess. When they're away, they can't do any more damage. It seems Congress only serves to create mass dissension and division these days. People seem to take a big sigh of relief when they're gone away on recess. In my opinion the Government is definitely doing way too much at this point. I'm definitely one of those Americans screaming "Get off my back!!" How bout you? I'm interested in what others think. Thanks.

Is it just me or do most people really feel a sigh of relief when Congress goes away on Recess? People seem to feel a sense of calm and peace when they're not in session. Just something i've noticed anyway. Hmm?

To those holding the highest seats in the Federal Government ....

Practice fiscal discipline and responsibility
Keep our borders safe
Maintain our infrastructure
Uphold the Constitution

And stay the hell out of my life!

(or ... get off our backs! )

All of that sounds good in theory, until you want to force your opinons on another, then you're more than happy to use the power of government.

In my opinion it's the Government who creates most of the serious problems and then it's they who try to fix those problems. The Congress just seems to be in session too often.

Congress is in session no more or less today that it was 20 years ago as far as I can tell. What problems do you see that the government has created that we're dealing with now?

Social security. Medicare. Massive debt.

I'm not being partisan here. I blame both parties for Congress being in session too often. It's something that needs to change. It seems the more they're in session, the more harm they do to our nation. I have noticed that most people really do feel a sense of relief when they're gone away on Recess. What does that say about our Government?

So you dont want a responsible government? You dont think we should defend ourselves? You don't want our Constitution upheld?

How is advocating these forcing our opinions on anyone? that's what the government was set up to do.

Some people will never get it. Too much Government is always a bad thing. Our Founding Fathers knew this all those years ago. Socialism/Communism only encourages the erosion of peoples' Freedoms and Liberties. What more do people need to know?

George Carlin nailed this. Republicans want to get government off our backs?

But they want to tell you what magazines you can read, what rock lyrics you can listen to, force your kids to pray in school and what you can say on the radio.

There against pornography, homosexuality, sex Ed, abortion.
